“better than their wildest dreams”
Ok. Now you have my attention. This is beyond any hype I’ve ever seen before.

“better than their wildest dreams”
Ok. Now you have my attention. This is beyond any hype I’ve ever seen before.
Hard to buy into hype since it’s just what you expect from companies, but to be fair I can sort of imagine why the devs expect this to be a big one. We’re getting a core revamp AND a new card type for sure, so this is probably the “biggest” expansion they’ve ever released.
On the other hand, they’re really usually not very hush about upcoming changes, so it would be surprising (pleasantly surprising) if they’re waiting to blow us away with more than just new cards.
Now I only have 2 options based on the hype
There’s no longer some in-between area after this. I’m setting the bar extremely high. If I don’t verbally say “HOLY SH–” then option 2 is where I’ll be.
And judging by previous expansions and promises, we’re very likely at #2. They are really setting themselves up for massive failure or massive success with all this hype.
i really don´t see how this will be anything but a disappointment compared to the hype they´re building.
To match it they basically had to redo the entire client to make it work flawlessly for the players on mobile and also reset the powerlevel for everyone, bringing the game back to a less polarized state where skill is equally important to hitting the right matchups again.
lol that’s exactly my thought…like, there has to be some DRASTIC change to meet this hype.
i mean if we get the monkclass i´ll be like “yay”, but if it still plays out like right now (and not too much of the problematic stuff is rotating) it´ll be novel for a week or two and then go back to what we have.
It´ll be nowhere close enough to justify any of this.
when i read the words wildest dreams …i googled “world of warcraft Wild” and found there are several creatures called “wild gods”
nizau and chi ji are 2 of them…
probably just a coincidence
For me, it not only has to be a new class, it has to be something more as well. A whole expansion of some new mechanic like Equipment or a new tournament mode, etc. It has to be a LOT of me to meet this hype.
“wildest dreams”? Yeah, my wildest dreams is a super balanced meta with a bunch of content. Chances of that happening are literally my wildest dreams hah
i don´t think the wording is a spoiler in this direction, if so it´d be a very odd choice that should never have gotten through any competent marketing team.
albeit i will be surprised if it´s not pandaria.
Let’s hope it’s not more power crept crap.
Try not to overthink it lol
You know what card got super happy reviews during the pre-release tease season? Kazakusan.
You know what card is still beloved by thousands of players who don’t post here? Kazakusan.
When he says “beyond your wildest dreams” I just imagine Jay Wilson saying "Take your Kazakusan and double it."
Y’all hate fun, so “beyond your wildest dreams” translates to “beyond your darkest nightmares.” I’m not exaggerating, above me are literally posts saying all you really want for Christmas are boring cards of obviously moderate power level.
I bet you are closer than you think. There is a good chance it’s some kind of pun he is making.
Moderate power level seems fine, with some high powered stuff. Just not a lot. Boring is bad…i think the team could get a lot more creative.I could list dozens…no…maybe a hundred cards that I feel are poopy right now. I dont like power creep very much. I don’t think anyone should be dropping 8 or 9 cost minions, only to be removed by a 2 cost spell. Or discover this, discover that. Not a fan here.
That’s just me of course. There are a lot of people that would love to see Kazakusan cost 3 mana and have it also discover you a brand new car.
Sorry to say but i feel that if their market team had any control over employee twitter comments many comments during HS history would not have happened.
They already said some player infuriating comments there when giving “insights”.
The balance ideal is cards that seem S Tier overpowered when they’re revealed but in practice are parts of Tier 2-3 decks. So, exactly Kazakusan.
The polarization ideal is much more even matchups than we have now. I’m more worried about this one, and it’s not less important than balance. Blizz really can’t afford for the expansion meta to make polarization even slightly worse.
But this concern doesn’t mean I don’t want the balance ideal.
Better than your WILDest dream or
Worse than your Standard nightmare…
There is a realm known as the Emerald Dream if I remember right. Then Hearthstone does an expansion there to explain how it became the Emerald Nightmare.
All the tech cards rotating into the core, and a new mechanic on the level of tradeable would spark some interest from me.
I’d really like some strategy cards along the lines of: if your opponent does X next turn, do Y.
But my guess is it is just hype.
