Im writing to ask a question. I read that for players which came back to the game after not playing a while, there are some packs to claim (f.e. 80). I didnt get anything and Im wondering if I could.
Do you know if it is an issue or maybe its normal and these rewards are only for chosen accounts?
Im coming back after a few years and it would be great to get some cards to start play with.

I think you are slightly mistaken.
If you have not logged on to your account in a long time, you do indeed get some welcome back presents. However, these are not simply a large number of packs, and you do not get them instantly and automatically.
I just checked this by logging on to a region I don’t normally play on, and where I had not played in a long time. I got a “special quest”, called “Return of the Hero, part 1”. Upon completing that, it was replaced with part 2, and so on, all the way up to part 5. Each of those 5 quests was very easy to complete (I forgot to write down the exact requirements), and gave very generous rewards, as follows:
- Part 1: 500 gold and 1 catch-up pack
- Part 2: 500 gold
- Part 3: 1 catch-up pack
- Part 4: 250 gold
- Part 5: 1 catch-up pack
In total that was 1,250 gold and 3 catch-up packs. Which, for that account and on that region, translated into 150 new cards, or the equivalent of 30 normal packs. But if you already have a decent collection of the five past expansions, it will be less for you.

However, this article is a year old, it states that the offer is not available anywhere (without specifying where and where not), and it explains it as an experiment by Blizzard to see if this gets more people to return to the game. Since I have heard nothing about this since, I assume the experiment was not successful, and the current idea of catch-up packs is their new attempt to get people to return to the game.

Is this task still valid? After logging into the game, I was prompted to return as an old player, but the mission did not include what you mentioned
I haven’t logged in for a long time, and after logging in, there is also a prompt to welcome back, but I don’t have the reward you mentioned. It used to be there. What’s going on
