Missing cards in collection

Ive been playing Hearthstone for the better part of 10 years now, off and on sometimes as life can get busy. Previously i’ve logged in after a stint of being inactive and there’s expectedly been updates and card changes, but never have cards been completely removed from my collection before now. I logged back in after about a year off the game to find that almost half my decks were incomplete, and expecting to see that maybe some cards were changed or updated and just needed to be added back in, come to find out a number of my legendaries and epics and a handful of golden cards were just missing entirely, with the “not owned” label on them, meanwhile the deck itself had the placeholder card still in the deck itself but no copy of the card existed in my collection anymore.

These are just the legendary cards I noticed are gone. I just dont understand why these legendaries are gone now, and why so many. There’s no crafting dust in my inventory to remake these cards either as if they were removed or deconstructed, as I’ve noticed before in previous years if a card was changed or removed the dust would be refunded. This is extraordinarily frustrating to have a huge chunk of my collection that I’ve amassed over a decade go missing entirely.

Are you trying to build a standard or wild deck, cause most of these(maybe all) are non longer standard

Some number of these are also cards you were loaned for the 2023 core set so maybe were never YOURS so if you never recrafted them when they rotated you wouldn’t still have them

I haven’t checked that whole list, but a lot of those are cards that used to be in the Core set.

Blizzard introduced the Core set in 2021. It is a large group of cards that is loaned to all players for free. They appear as part of your collection, and you can use them in decks just like any other cards, but you do not own them and they cannot be disenchanted.

Most of the Core cards are “reprints” of cards from past expansions, but there are also some brand-new cards that were never in any expansion.

Each year since then, Blizzard has rotated the Core set, removing some cards and adding new ones. So, that explains why at least some of those cards are missing. When you built those decks, those cards were part of the Core set. But later they were removed, so you didn’t have access to them anymore.

This definitely helps explain why a number of cards were missing from decka i made. I play exclusively wild for this reason, most of my collection is all older things from years ago that i just love and enjoy playing.
