I had a game where this happened, and his minion died. I captured it with the Overwolf game tracker, so I can give you a link to the game on Zero to Heroes if you want.
I am 100% positive that it was the minion attacking.

If a hero has a weapon equipped on their turn, that hero has an Attack value.
If a minion attacks such a hero, it will take damage in return, just as if it had attacked any other minion.
This isn’t a bug.
Thanks for the answer, but it feels like a bug. The weapon doesn’t disappear during your opponents turn, although the attack value does. It just seems inconsistent.
But it does get sheathed, and you no longer have an Attack number.
You are right, but it feels inconsistent. Attacking heroes usually doesn’t deal damage.
That’s because when you attack the enemy hero, it’s typically your turn. But Misdirection allows a hero to be attacked on their own turn.
There is only one other action where your hero can be attacked on your own turn - as far as I know.
It involves Mayor Noggenfogger and Samp King Dred.
SKD attacks a minion played but due to MN goes face.
In this case the weapon also deals damage.
I don‘t think there is any other option, hence you don‘t see that interaction that often.
Well yeah not a bug but it indeed feels wrong somehow. Thanks for the thread and the explanations @shuteye
