Anyone else suspect that since this is a special crossover, Blizzard doesn’t want to show it off because they plan on making it cost more than normal mini-sets?
The chances that you are right are definitely higher than 0%, that’s for sure.
It would not shock me in the slightest.
Mhm, we know this is special and we have hero cards, etc.
Instead of the normal 2,000 gold to purchase it, it’ll cost 3,000 because well we have no good reason… maybe you’ll get to pick a signature for buying it for 3k.
And if you spend for the golden bundle, you get all hero cards in signature lmao.
Definitely it’s odd they’re taking so long to kick off the reveals. And the official Hearthstone account has been basically silent since the holidays.
Not a great look with the game in the state it’s in tbh.
Dang, I was hoping I get to rewards track level 100 and 1000 DK wins and quit forever before Starcraft infected my Warcraft universe. Oh well, guess I’ll have to deal with the nonsense for ~70 wins and 7 levels.
uh they ve been revealing the mini set a week before it s release for years now…
no idea why were you expecting the reveals to start this week
do you know more about the date ?
didn’t they directly state that it was going to be bigger but pricier than a normal mini set?
It’s for sure going to be more. We already know there’s going to be more cards in the set. I am guessing between 2500-3000 Gold.
I’m guessing $34.99 and 4k gold (120 dollars and 40k gold for golden version)
It’s already been estimated to cost anywhere from 1.5 to 2 times more.
At 4K gold i just don’t see it selling. That’s a huge chunk of gold for just a couple card. It’s not going to be more than a handful more cards.
That’s the good scenario. I fear they may charge money for true P2W advantages.
Remember the last BGs major patch.
They expect it because it will be a much more bigger mini set than usual… so it will need more time to be revealed. However that is not necessarily true, they can reveal just more cards at once than usual as well…
If it’s much different then we may be talking about a shift in the release cycle itself, which might mean we may not even get a miniset soon or we may not get one at all but we might be told to wait for an expansion.
But I assumed it’s just a regular miniset maybe with some bonuses like special hero powers representing the factions of Starcraft (I think they said something close to that but I don’t have it in front of me).
Didnt this current set got leaked early killing all the hype for the reveals???
Im all for a good Blizzard bashing but thats a solid reason to be extra careful this time around.
A couple reasons:
- 1- The miniset is much bigger than normal, therefore it’d be reasonable to expect a longer reveal period.
- 2 - The timing this time has been stretched a lot. Usually the miniset announcement is scheduled for right after the end of the special Tavern Brawl and much closer to the release of the Bgs patch than what is happening now.
The holidays have stretched out a lot and the game is in a very rough spot right now so the playerbase needs something to look forward to urgently. It’d be wise to hurry this one up.
The release date is almost surely the 21st of Jan so the announcement is most likely happening next Tuesday 14th. An unusually long wait after Bgs season release for a miniset. It better be good.
That’s different from selling card packs how?
21 isnt that late
2 years ago the mini set was released in february
March of the Lich King was released December 6th 2022 - 2 months and 1 week later miniset (Feb 14th)
Showdown in Badlands was released November 14th - ~2 months later miniset(Jan 18th)
The Great Dark Beyond was released November 5th 2024 - 2 months and over 2 weeks later miniset (21st Jan)
Sure it isn’t that big of a difference but this miniset is coming out significantly later than usual. And a content draught is the last thing the game needs after the last balance patch fell short of introducing a significant change to the meta.
ya nailed it chapuzo with the last sentence of your post " And a content draught is the last thing the game needs after the last balance patch fell short of introducing a significant change to the meta."
