just got out of a solo match, the person playing as Millhouse chose the greater trinket that gives 2 copies of a specific tribe at the start of turn, when I hovered over their character portrait in the sidebar, instead of it reading the tribe he was playing (murlocs) the trinket instead shows as the following:
‘Get 2 random Blood Elves. At the start of each turn, get 2 more.’
I took a screenshot because I wasn’t sure if this is a glitch in the code, or if this is an unintentional effect of the latest round of trinket tuning gone wrong, but it looks like there was/is plans to have a blood elf tribe in BG’s lol.
Could you share it? Not because I don’t believe it, just to see it ingame. Interesting, the sneak peak earlier this year looks more night elf-ish, maybe next expansion has to do with elves in general? Would make sense to get night elf and blood elf tribes.
I’ve seen reports like this on Reddit. Blood elves, Draeni, Dwarves and other minion types that don’t exist in Battlegrounds are showing up on that trinket. Those types are coded into the game even though they are not used anywhere except mercenaries. It’s likely not part of a plan to add a new minion type, but just some kind of bug.
you can’t really say for certain if there are any plans to add such things or not, that’s something that Blizz will either confirm or deny if/when they bother to do so, as far as it being a ‘bug’, that’s also a possibility hence my questioning of whether it’s something that’s coming or just a quirk of spaghetti coding with the latest updates, I just thought it was unusual and kinda funny hence the post, not really looking to make it a big deal or put the tinfoil hat on and think up some wild conspiracy theories as to what it could mean.
it looks like this ‘bug’ spoiled the entire theme of the new expansion rofl, with them adding ‘draenei’ as a tribe in the game, and seeing as the entire point of the expansion is the whole backstory of the draenei race leaving their old home world on space craft to escape the incoming burning legion, looks like they will likely also add ‘blood elf’ as a tribe either as part of this up coming expansion, or as the one after this one spring next year, oh well.
Nah it’s an old bug. It’s probably a list of all the Wacraft tribes that is somewhere in the code, and it sometimes the code the queries it bugs and gives whatever.
