I thought there was a fix that cards cannot discover more copies of themselves.

Today my Messenger Raven discovered another during an Arena game. is that on purpose?

This is probably intended.

Messenger Raven pulls from a limited pool – “mage minions” – and thus might have been part of the coding exception for self-discovery. Small discover pools were not prevented from discovering more of the discover initiator.

That seems counter-intuitive. If it’s a large pool you would hardly ever discover a duplicate anyway. Seems like small pools are exactly the ones that need protection.

As far as I am aware, the only small pools which do not have that protection are those which Discover cards in opponent’s hand, your deck, etc. I would expect Messenger Raven to not be an exception, and therefore I don’t think it should be able to discover itself. But I have not seen an official comment about this specific one.
