Haven’t played Hearthstone almost for a year, but Mercenaries got me a bit interested so I was wondering if the PVE is actually interesting/worth it? Or is all the focus to level your mercenaries and then go PVP? What is PVE like?
I had fun in pve clearing all the bounties, you also get some sweet rewards along the way.
The last one is 5 packs totaly worth it.
Honestly, the PVE aspect is boring. There’s no real lore or anything involved. Just keep beating bounties until your team is not strong enough, then farm the same bounties over and over to level, collect tasks for the mercs to get gear for them. Rinse and repeat.
There’s no sense of real progress or anything in the PVE aspect of Mercs. You spend more time repeating easy-to-farm content than anything else.
Merc PVP is currently not in a good position. Once unlocked, you can actually just farm AI opponents and level faster. There are good videos out there showing the most efficient way to do it. After your rating hits a certain level, it becomes less effective to farm xp in PVP.
If you don’t own any of the Big 3 (Lich King, Diablo, Sylvanas), you will struggle vs most of the live players in the higher ranks.

The pve is actually a little bit challenging. But if you’re interested in pvp, you’re incentivized to grind the easy pve content.
I am enjoying the mode got all the mercs. Fun to play while doing something else like watching netflix or something. Prefer it to the main game right now lol.
It has some merits as a extremely afk or life friendly mode. You can afk it for what seemed to be 340 xp a hr pve winning, and 240 xp a hr losing in pve (lol), most modes average about 300 xp a hr. The xp a hr for winning and losing bgs or mercs are probably the same, but you can consistently win 100% of the time in pve mercs for 340 xp a hr just leaving a game open in the bg. Its only like 10-11g a hr worth, but if you’re bored or like seeing extra reward pings it’s a pretty affable mode
As far as coins go I’d say it’s 50% pay to whale 50% f2p. You can build xyrella blademaster f2p that farms pve and bots, (and I’ve gotten +1/5 samuro f2p weaving the apohecary for 15-50 samuro coins for one extra battle), but I can barely even level my legendaries quickly besides tasks. Alexstaza got 200/2000 coins, illidan, my first had like 260/2000. Sure they’re whalelord benefits and tasks get you like 1000/2000 coins to maxish the base abilities. But all I can do with missing synergy mercs like missing coin , dragonless (brightwing is only dragon and epic) alexstraza, is turn her into a okay one move spammer.
Idk if the gameplay is anything revolutionary but you can afk it easily for xp. That is ironically a solid plus. The mode may not be anything great but it’s tied to HS xp so it’s a free 50 gold here and there.
The PvP vs AI is more fun than the bounties.
Don’t be shy to try the PvP at any merc level.
Repetitive and dull.

Heroic Emperor Thaurissan must be easy to farm, hmm?
For me it is now, but it was hard for a long while.
For the average player, trying to get Diablo this way is an extreme ordeal.
I should be able to get him soon if I am lucky with 2x 25 Diablo coin drops, or x70 from completing task 15s.
It was pretty fun figuring out Heroic bosses. Now that’s it’s becoming easier as I upgrade my Mercs and am more familiar with the mechanics, it’s less challenging, so slightly less fun. I got a little salty after playing 10-11 Heroic Lord Banehollow and only getting 1x 25 Anduin 2 times. Still somehow got 500 coins for him from other sources.

probably gonna do the same for that location with normal difficulty.
and by the way, he was meant the repeating normal level 30 for mysterious stranger.
there is nothing engaging from repeating that and changing the location just basically meant you spend more time repeating easy stuff.
you are taking the context wrong man.
it’s very easy to reach mystery coin and retire the run.
but they don’t want you to match with AI bot based on recent update.
despite AI bot is mercenary prominent feature to the point they proudly boast about it.
they are 
around
