In the Mercenaries game mode, Jaraxxus’s Task #10 “Fel Flames” is bugged.
The task reads “Cast Fist of Jaraxxus 45 times.” However, casting Fist of Jaraxxus on its own does not actually give credit for the task. Completing the task requires triggering extra copies of Fist of Jaraxxus by having extra demons on your side. The original cast itself does not give credit, despite the task saying only casting Fist of Jaraxxus is required.
I ended up casting Fist of Jaraxxus around 30 times where Jaraxxus was the only demon on my board, which resulted in 0/45 progress on the task.
Are you sure that is how it works? Did you try closing the game and opening it again?

There are patterns in how the tasks work.
Task 1 - Ability 1
Task 2 - Ability 2
Task 3 - Ability 3
Task 10 requires the combo effect of Ability 1 to trigger.
So with Lord Jaraxxus you need to kill the minion with Legion Burst (Ability 1) and trigger the Deathblow which then casts a Fist of Jaraxxus.
Or it appears as the OP said, having friendly Demons which triggers the combo effect of Fist of Jaraxxus itself.

Thanks! I realized I was stuck on 36, started summoning a demon on turn 1 and completed it with no problem after that. Oddly enough it went from not counting it at all to over counting it as I got 3 completions from one use with only two demons on board. Was getting frustrated because I didnt want to tie up a Task slot, but hate abandoning ones since I usually get them right back again.

Yeah, this task is definitely counting funny. Rough guess: it seems to be giving +2 for each demon other than Jaraxxus. I was at 30/45 before a battle. During the battle, I cast it once with Mannoroth and an infernal on the team, so Fist of jaraxxus hit 3 times. The task was 34/45 after the battle. Similarly, I noticed it increase by 6 when cast with a team of Lord Jaraxxus, Rathorian, Diablo, and an infernal, even when Fist only hit twice before everything died. Also, it doesn’t seem to count the deathblow from Legion Burst.
I did it! Fuschia advice is wrong. Just put Jaraxxus and another demon in your team. Use Jaraxxus’s ability 3 : summon infernal. (I used it 3 times to fill the ground and that counted 4 completions). Then launch Jaraxxus’s ability 2 : fist.
PS: You can use cookie the cook to summon minions ennemies to do it faster.

18/09/2022 - Still not fixed. Go [Mikedali], Put Jaraxxus with Rathorian, who can also summon and Mannaroth who will lower enemy attack to give you more time to set up casting.
Should increase by 3 per battle, so 15 battles and you’re done.
Just rename ‘cast’ to ‘repeat’. How hard is that Blizzard?
Like the last poster said, it still isn’t working right. It’s been nearly a year since this was reported. Just changing the wording of the task would fix it. Not everyone can figure this out on their own or knows how to look up forum posts like this.
