Mercenaries, GROMMASH feedback

I WILL MENTION THE BAD THINGS ABOUT GROMM AND AT THE END HOW I WOULD CHANGE IT.

1. low hp
2. it hasen’t synergy.

Bloody fervor, it’s the worst skill by far.

  • Deathblow, deathblow mechanic is bad because it activate very rarely.
  • Deathblow with speed: 8 equals almost never activating it.
  • Most of the time it’s a simple attack with speed: 8

staggering slam

  • Does not synergize with Blood Fervor,Battle Fury or basic stats, this causes that will be too weak at mid/late game.
  • we will end spamming “staggering slam” while we have 40 dmg only for his high speed in order to get a death blow xd
  • Speed slower is a good mechanic, but it doesn’t match the gromm archetype which is basically a red assassin.

Battle Fury

  • If there is only 1 character, it is a simple attack with increased damage.
  • Too slow.

3. Design.

  • In most legendaries the essence of the hero is captured but gromm currently seems like a generic character that does not do anything special or attract attention. For a legendary it falls short compared to how impressive samuro, diablo, arthas, garrosh is in terms of design. The only ability that could represent it could be battle fury the other two are too simple and boring.
  • Missing one of the legendary weapons, “Gorehowl”, they basically forgot it exists.

4. Equipment.

  • Blood fervor, Lethal is rarely activated therefore this upgrade either. (I am surprised that they have not put more damage here too)
  • Stunning slam, more damage
  • Battle fury, more damage

Basically it only says +4 points of damage to the ability that you choose.

5. How could it be improved.

  • Bloody fervor. Removing the death blow will decrease the bonus damage significantly and significantly reduce the speed. Speed 5 and bonus damage of 3 or 5.

  • staggering slam. Other than just flat damage, he could deal damage equal to his attack or deal 5 damage plus half his attack damage. On the other hand, slowing down does not fit into the type of archetype that it wants to represent, so it could be eliminated to continue maintaining its speed. speed slower is a mechanic to utility heros adn gromash isn´t.

  • Battle fury. Battle fury is basically a cheap knockoff of “wind fury”, the difference is that there is no damage focus like samuro that can blow up an enemy. They could just make it a “wind fury” or make the second attack random and not necessarily another enemy, which would not waste the extra attack if there was only one enemy minion. You could also slow down to 8.

  • Equipment. Replace any current equipment, doesn’t matter what it is because they are all bad, by: Gorehowl, also damages adjacent enemies.

Grom is one of the few attacking mercs who actually has a red-ability (and it’s quick and provides speed control).

Also one of the challenges in mercenaries is learning to line up deathblows so you can get those powerful bonus effects.

Red mercs don’t have fast attacks. The fastest red attacks are like… 6. 5 is too quick.

thrall has a 6 speed attack with 5 bonus dmg for all hordes allies with wind fury if you want.
garrosh has a 5/2/3 speed abilities
cairne has 6/3/5 speed abilities with utilities and reincarnation.

grommash doesn’t have contribution to help his composition he’s a simple red assasin and his attack has speed:8 worse than thrall garrosh and cairne by far.

death blow mechanic, you will activate it 6 times at the dream in a normal game and you will never activate it with speed:8 (grommash will die first, this minion will die before, his team will heal the minion, his team will activate taunt and more situations will happen.) king krush has a nice death blow mechanic, faster and it will go to low hp character ignoring taunts and be faster than the enemy team.
staggerin slam is nice too but when you has 40 dmg you don’t wanna use it but the situation will force you to use it. it will happen most of the time and this sensation is too bad.

sooooo you want the slow down skil lgone so we can no longer use it to manipulate which skill blink fox will copy thx to its equipment …

And here I thought Grom was pretty good for a Red Merc on the basis that his Slam attack was fast enough to proc Samuro’s double attack.

But him no Orc. Him no Smash. Him no fit in Orc team.
