Recently (as of Patch 24.0), Wrathion has been reworked in an attempt to make him… more useful, putting aside diplomacy. This initiative is commendable, however, as is often the case when mercenary abilities change, it also affects enemies in bounties using the skills that have been updated. In particular, Creeping Madness stands out here: it used to have Speed 8, now up to 4, which is considerably faster. Notably, the Acolyte of N’Zoth and the minions of the Dragonbone Golem have this ability, which is now much harder to prevent or stop. Arguably, the former is still quite manageable, as for the latter — I used to farm it with Velen, Cornelius and Anduin, and it was one of those bounties where you most often would not lose a single merc (there was even a such task in some event), and when I tested it once after the patch, I actually lost Cornelius during the fight, even though the boss didn’t trigger the dreaded ‘Matching Skulls’ deathrattle (although I didn’t get many treasures either, only had one Alliance Banner), since the red minions (Skeletal Flayers or something like that) can now actually attack before you take them out with the usual AoE spells. Not that it’s not doable anymore, but considerably more challenging.
The question is: do you think that this difficulty increase in these bounties, which is mostly a side effect of a mercenary rework and probably unintended, is a bit too much, especially for newer or budget players who are trying to catch up?
