if a deck is highly overperforming statistically over most other classes, it should get nerfed.

Well I didn’t get that that’s what you meant. However the decision to nerf cards in the first place should come first and foremost from the stats.

I don’t see much evidence that’s not the case for the most part. The things I pointed above (tick locks, priest) could even be evidence that they do look at the stats. Despite the whines about them, they weren’t that great on the stats, so they weren’t nerfed.

And when it was with pally, while pally was good on the stats, they weren’t early Barrens good. So they only got Alura nerfed last year, with the big nerfs coming in the Barrens.

Same could be said of the recent priest nerfs. Renew has always been a thing for priest since its introduction, but priest has only been considered too strong (at high ranks) recently.

Battleground Battlemaster should have never been printed. I have legitimately no idea what the devs were thinking. It’s ridiculous in standard and in arena it’s out of control.

That’s what you get when streamers start whining like crazy about priest. The dumbass devs killed the class and now paladin will most likely take over again, which I sincerely welcome it. If I can’t play control decks, I sure as hell want paladins making this meta as miserable as possible to every other combo/otk decks to the point until every netdecker flocks to it.

If it’s paladin that will fix this nonsense meta (because sure as f it won’t be these pepega devs) then so be it.

Got the “on streak” achievement max out yesterday (12 wins in standard ranked in a row) with midrange shaman ele. Fought 3 handbuff paladins, destroyed them all.
Only lost on my 13 game against a mirror match, dude just draw better.

Paladin is strong, but not broken imo.

I think people got used to Paladin after the Baku/Genn early HOF where it was dumpster tier for over a year. Basically until Scholomance Academy (with help from a strong set in Ashes of Outland as well). Paladin has been quite strong since that time, sometimes Tier 1.

my favorite class is paladin it has been my favorite since beta, and man i can say the first few years was rough, and i am assume our day in the sun will end, but until that happens let us enjoy it. at least paladins win by board play, instead of cheese. TBH i wish instead of making the rez archetype for priest, i was hoping they were going to make buff priest a bigger thing having 2 board centric class would be awesome, three if you count Zoo as board centric, but that hasn’t been too popular for awhile.

i think it because when paladin wins a lot of time if feels like you could have still won, a class winning by building a board over a few turns and chipping away feels better to die then a warlock vomiting a bunch of cards to deck them self and it actually kills you. the new garrote rogue floating around essentially does the same thing. watching your opponent play solitaire and then killing you just feels bad man. its why people disproportionately complain about priest, even though not many people play priest when unskilled players run into priest the game is long and feels like they could do nothing. you can’t just break the game down to statistics x deck has y win rate, why are people not having z response? well because how people feel about the game is relevant

the maths are wrong. For example, Priest was top 1 deck durings forged in the barren, but only when played well. And it was certainly tier1 . It also was the best deck in darkness at the moon faire.

Hand buff pally is one of THE MOST uninteractive decks out there right now and it has positive WR on every deck except quest rogue. You are punished for clearing minions because each time they pop divine shield you buff another and its constant waves. In addition, they have control techniques and massive healing. Delete paladin please.

It’s also, like all pally decks before it, brain dead which means all of the sheep are going to flock to it.

Do people not understand that the meta is geared right now to beat all the spell-based decks out there?? Handbuff pally is strong yes, but it has clear counters which are currently not really seeing much play. People really need to stop having such a whinefest every time a strong deck pops up. At least Pally wants to fight for the board instead of just smorcing you down from 30 health from the hand…

Handbuff Paladin and Face Hunter seem to be the two tier 1 decks, killing everyone. Surprised they don’t see tons of play/hate as well.

quest rogue should actually be favored vs handbuff.

at least i havent lost not even once vs handbuff.

hard removal+saps+early tempo is good vs them. and the only answer to your stealthed scabbs is a superbuffed samuro which is rare (and you can try to play around that by leaving only thealthed minions on board).

Even your hero power is strong to break their shields.

Shroud, could you post your decklist, please? I believe I saw you reference it elsewhere but am genuinely curious because I absolutely adore that questline, even if it isn’t optimal yet.

I’m playing a pure Paladin deck. There are no spells, there are no Librams, & no Silver Hand Recruit nonsense; just minion play with some low level Neutral cards & some Legendary’s thrown in (It is based on the free deck “Storm Wind Paladin”.) I’ve tried other Paladin decks, but I think this one is the strongest. I took Secret Paladin to Legend before the nerfs; after nerfs I could only get Diamond.

I only play Standard, & I’m Free to Play - dust & craft.

No, Paladin got broken again lmao. Another cheap weapon printed for no bloody reason. To support the stickiest minions that never got adjusted. And Warlock in Wild is just a clown fiesta too.

And Mage needs Flow deleted. It’s just ridiculous amounts of mana cheat. Sorc might as well still be in Standard, but even better as a cheap spell. Flow is busted.

Being vulnerable to Face Hunter isn’t an excuse.

GA Druid got destroyed by both Face Hunter and Bomb Warrior and GA still got deleted from the game.
