Well, first of all I don’t think we need a patch this quick already. However, since you are having one, please nerf Blood DK! It’s boring (to me at least) playing an op deck that can just drop 1 card to wipe a board. And frustrating playing against Blood DK that when you have to stress your brain to play 5 or more cards to make a good board, and then a Blood DK drops 1 card and clears it.
Make Soulstealer spend 1 corpse for each minion it kills, that way Blood DKs have to make a board themselves, and can’t just sit back doing nothing but board wipes. They should have to put themselves out there and play minions like other decks do. That way they can’t Corpse Explosion and Soulstealer back to back full board clears; they’d have to play minions in between the two.
The best decks in the games shouldn’t be ones that do only control. Last year, all the good decks were the ones not based around minions being left on the board because there was so much destroy and control, you’re board never lasted a turn. Now with Control Priest being totally anti-minion, clearing minions with easy, it seems like minion based decks are going to be left behind again. This teaches players that it’s bad to play aggressive decks because if you put yourself out there, so to speak, you’re gonna get crushed.
Remember the basis of these card games were my minions attack your minions or I attack and you block with your minions, and who can do the best mathematical jiu-jitsu so they come out ahead. Control cards that “poof” away minions rob the game from minion vs minion combat. I am most stressed but into the game when I have a full 7 minion board vs my opponents 7 minion board that I need to use my minions to get through. Those are the moments where I’ve had my best games and the most fun. Whereas I’ve actually got bored after a winning with a Blood DK.
Man oh man. People will really complain no matter what. “Not enough balance changes” “Too many balance changes” “Too big balance patch” “Too small balance patch”.
The last dk change with triple rune discover was extremely good without killing the class. What you want is essentially your aggro deck to have no counters. No thanks.
I think what they are doing now is excellent. Making small changes over time to see how the meta folds out. Blood dk is a tier 2 deck and I think mainly tier 1 decks should only be nerfed.
I get that at lowers ranks bronze-plat/diamond blood dk can be extremely oppressive because there are few real thoughtful plays, being vary of counters/timing of cards etc. people tend to just play down the most expensive card and try to rush down the opponent. This is the opposite of what we should see especially at lower ranks. Nerfing blood dk is a very, very bad decision especially at legend which would make it even more useless.
There are decks that only do Control? I was sure that literally everything ran some kind of win condition.
I did start off saying I didn’t think a balance patch was needed, but if they are, Blood DK is the obvious one to look at. Just based on how many people play blood is enough reason to make some changes! Doesn’t it get sickening and boring to you to face Blood DK after Blood DK?
I agree that they should only do small changes, which is why I suggest making Soulstealer have to spend 1 corpse per minion it kills (randomly chosen). That’s a nerf not affecting mana cost or the overall affect of the card, if you have enough corpses.
If you watched Master’s Tour at all, the longest, boring games to watch were the Control vs Control. I’ve seen Twitch streamers log off after they finished a control vs control game. Control decks are just horrible for the game, because they are “extremely oppressive” as you say. If they were extremely and only somewhat oppressive, I wouldn’t be complaining. They aren’t forced to have to make their own aggressive plays, but can just win by milling their opponent, which is just bad. Times when I lost and still had fun was when my opponent did something aggressive and thought-provoking. I never thought, “GG, you to played a single card and beat me, how fun.”
What you are suggesting is killing the class. It sees little play in high legend and loses to most decks. Undead dk and even frost dk is a much bigger problem. I get it tho if they top deck and have answer after answer it feels hopeless. If they nerf blood dk it will be unplayable. 1 card max would perhaps not do too much dmg (blood boil). Also priest is able to do more so in a world they would nerf blood dk you would complain about priest afterwards and so would the list continue.

People have been sleeping on control priest since the rotation began. TBH I’m probably going to make one since it’s supposed to be favored against the BDK control mirror.
Kind of disgusting that all these nerfs are coming but absolutely nothing hit control priest actually.

Control priest is far superior but also more difficult to play. I’d say We are about to see control priest warping the meta just like bdk did.
This is just not true at all go check bdk or control priest both very strong decks that are good vs aggro. Cobtrol priest stomps also other control decks
