So yesterday I was playing in the Heroic Brawliseum with a control priest deck. Matched against another control priest. 45 minute game later were both into fatigue I have a mark of scorn in my hand for exact lethal with his fatigue damage, but it doesnt deal the damage. And because I drew into more fatigue, I lost on the next turn.
Is this a bug?
I drew a card, and the card I drew was not a minion. Should the 3 damage have been dealt?
No, you did not draw a card. You tried to draw a card, but failed, because your deck was empty.
If the card text on Mark of Scorn would have read “Draw a card. If you didn’t draw a minion, deal 3 damage to the lowest Health enemy”, then I would agree with your expectation of dealing 3 damage.
But the actual card text is “Draw a card. If it’s not a minion, deal 3 damage to the lowest Health enemy”. Where “it” refers to the card drawn. Since there was no card drawn, the test to see whether “it” was a minion could not be done.
Not dealing damage would have been my expectation.
