Marin is WAY too strong

This is not a “I lost to it so it is broken” post. This is a “I am running this in multiple decks and it stomps the opponent every time.” post.
To celebrate the Reno nerf I decided to break out my Reno build to see if the nerfs did much(they did not). I got rid of a card and slammed in Marin.

With no exaggeration, every game I played Marin, I won. Being able to draw 3 and reduce the costs to zero is frankly comically broken. Playing 8+ mana cards for 0 puts the opponent in a position where there is no coming back. Let alone the hand full of times where I got Brann+Boomboss off the draw. God forbid you already have Brann out and get the double battle cry.

I am not even sure how I would nerf it. It should not have been printed.

Those treasures have all existed before being generated by different forms. Wand is not a new thing. Although they require less set up to get with marin and you get all 4 instead of 1.

Marin works as a perfect replacement for 1 copy of nerfed card even for Zarimi priest.

Feels like a new Reno and an RNG way to win some otherwise lost games.

I mean… HOW?

Yes, it’s a good value card but who cares? Warrior generally wins value because it deletes opponents deck, between Elise, Starlight Whelp and Rheastraza Druid has infinite value, I guess it can give you a buffer in Shaman if you pair Marin with Shudderblock but whatever…

Again, HOW?

It creates high roll situations where the opponent has essentially no chance of winning, from one card being played. This makes for a pretty unfun experience.

I mean, welcome to HS AD 2024, I am sorry, welcome to Highroll AD 2024

Amanthul, Excavate, Rouge, Yogg Saron. Highrolling is what you do if you don’t feel like playing some OP crap like Warlock or Paladin.

How does warrior delete opponents deck? Im aware of warlock being able to delete cards from the top of my deck, but Im not aware of any Warrior cards that do so. Ive seen warrior add bombs to my deck. but nothing that can whole cloth straight remove cards from the deck. Im no expert at constructed at all so Im all eyes to learn of such shenanigans.

Boomboss bombs. With Brann you shuffle 6 in. They destroy 1 from hand, deck, AND field when drawn. It can be up to a 1 for 19 card.

up to a 1 for 19 card? huh? I dont understand this string of words and numbers. What is being said by that?

Or you draw 1 mana card and it’s completely useless. He’s good in druid becauseof the mana advantage.

A 2 for 1 is when a card gets 2 cards worth of value. For example, a creature that discovers a card as a battle cry is a 2 for 1. You get the creature and the card it created. The bomb from Boomboss when drawn it destroys 1 card in hand, 1 from the deck, and 1 from the field. So, and Boomboss that shuffled 6 bombs into a deck can potentially generate 19 cards of value.

Been away. Which version? How does it work? Google results are disappointingly uninformative.

What how works? Boomboss? It shuffles 3 bombs, 6 after Brann, some Warriors are running Zola too. To that is 6 bombs and 1 bomb can delete up to 3 cards (1 on board, 1 from the deck and one from hand). So perfect Boomboss deletes over half of your deck (18 cards) while in reality it deletes about 1/3 (12 cards).

No, I should’ve clarified. I am talking about Marin. I mustn’t be Googling right.

new marin is 7 mana battlecry pick a treasure add to hand other three to deck so you grab wand that reads 3mana draw three set their cost to zero and can do some powerful stuff
-fast with ramp in druid can do by turn5
-rogues can shadow step and prep getting multiple and discounted treausres
-warrior/shaman duplicate the battlecry get a bunch of treasures

If you need one of the treasures, then it gets nerfed from all other sources too. And Marin’s treasured have not been needed nor buffed since kobolds and catacombs. And if this did get nerfed and we have the Marin the fox card and that was affected, we would get a big dust refund

Refund, Marin the Fox was free right?

It is quite strong and it might get nerfed so the cards can’t cost 0

One additional reason to nerf is that it’s not equally strong for every class, so it’s unbalanced by default

At least Zilliax is equally strong in every class - and it still got nerfed

I think Im not following your maths… as it seems you are using a positive/cumulative idea to express a subtractive/negative result? Its kinda throwing me. So you play 1 card, in order to {(not get) [subtract/remove from game]} up to 19 cards from opponent’s deck/hand/board.

am I getting that right? The way you expressed it confuses me and makes it sound as if you are gaining those 19 enemy cards when expressed as “up to a 1 for 19 card”. I dont mean to disparage your point or your words, its just a way ive never seen before to express a negative idea with a positive sounding phrase or idiom.
