Any reason generic quests can’t be completed in any mode?
- Draw 30 cards.
- Play 20 spells.
- Deal (x) damage to enemy hero.
Just tested in brawl mode, no longer works. Battlegrounds still doesn’t work.
I can understand Blizzard wants to convert non-paying customers to paying customers by possibly exposing players to more constructed/wild/arena but here’s what’s actually going to happen:
- I’m going to netdeck the dirtiest, cheapest, fastest face deck I can find, smash these dumb quests while I listen to a podcast and go back to battlegrounds.
If they wanted to more organically incentivize people to play other modes how about offer a 20% exp boost to these modes once in a while? Or a bonus pack?
Thoughts?

It has to be a bug. they always worked in brawl and there is no reason to not make the completable there

New system, maybe a bug, maybe intentional?
Would be a shame as brawl was usually a great way to burn through quests.
Will look around forums to see if anyone else has mentioned anything.

I do wish quests were avaible to be finished in any mode not practice but oh well… I think it’s a bug for no quest progress everywhere else
The patch announcement specifically lists Brawls among the modes that give XP, but not as one of the modes that can be used for quest completion. Seems to me that this was intended.
Well, there’s the answer! 
Kinda funny though, if Blizz thinks they’re going to convert Brawl/Battleground players by forcing them (if they want quest completion) to play constructed/arena they’re sorely mistaken. 
Like, as I said in my OP, I’ll make a dirty, cheap face deck and burn through the quests.

So Quests can only be completed in Casual and Ranked play now?
What about XP? What modes gives that now?
I can confirm that they also work Vs. friends
I can confirm that Quests can now be completed in Solo and Solo also grants you XP.
Update: Only Quests that says play certain number of matches in any mode can be completed in Solo. Other quests that says play certain cards cannot be completed in Solo. But you do get XP though but its very low.
Agree!!! Makes zero sense that you can do brawls anymore to complete quests…
Deal 65 damage to enemy face works in duels. So other unspecific quests should too. And extrapolating from that - should work in brawl, arena and casual too. Probably not in battlegrounds as that mode has totally different mechanics.
