Make new year quests permanent

I love the new years’ quests but I’ve been thinking it’s about time we get a permanent upgrade to basic quests to always include dust.

oh, maybe sprinkle in more 150g quests in there. Also, upgrade the friend quest to 150g. I don’t want to be one of those customers who are always begging for more free stuff but what was satisfactory 6 years ago is slighly lacking today.

Yeah, this.

Instead of making the current New Years quests special, double their output during the event next year.

The quests in rotation right now in the event are what I think is a good spot for all players permanently.

I dont think they would even consider keeping the event quests given the high odds of rolling into a 100g quest. Maybe a dust reward alongside the gold for the normal quests though?!?

If regular Adventures are to become a thing with each expansion, dust alongside normal daily gold would be great so folks can craft the cards they’re missing from expansions by spending that gold on adventures.

Yes, at a minimum, all quests should reward both gold and dust.

Wouldn’t complain if they did, but this has been requested basically every year, and every year the silence from the blues is deafening (all year round).

For the last preorder for DoD, they were forced to increase the value from 80 to 100 packs and 50 to 60 packs.

The internal numbers for hearthstone must have declined and they will have to do something to pull more people into the game. DoD gave 5 free galakrond legendaries for decks to be built around so its not outside the realm of possibility for blizzard bring forced to be more generous to stop the numbers decline, especially considering how expensive this game is and how hard it is to complete decks.

When everything in Hs get more expensive i dont see why this would happen…
Hearthstone doesnt need a certain action to be taken, it needs a whole change in its policy. Otherwise even if they take certain f2p actions they re simply going to countermeasure them with other things…

It doesn’t even have to be the same amount of dust as the gold, ANY DUST would be great. Heck, I’d take 10 dust per quest… you do your dailies, that’s about 300 dust per month, so you’d only get 2 Legendaries out of it every year, IF you played every day. Seems fair to me.

They’ve been doing this since C’thun, though. They do this stuff to appeal to the audience, not because it makes people feel like they’ve been rewarded, but because it feels really, really miserable to miss out on the gimmick for an expansion because you didn’t open the card it’s built around. Same reason they were handing out one free Quest / Legendary Weapon / Death Knight / whatever.

It’s not lack of value that pushes people out of the game, it’s the feeling of missing out. You know, the one that the current lootbox fad revolves around? You feel like you missed something, like you’re left out, and you’ll do anything to get rid of that feeling. Pushing you to the breaking point where you either buy the thing (because of all the time and money you’ve already invested in the game) or you’ll finally snap and quit the game.

Some amount of dust added to quest rewards would be great since it’s not uncommon for decks to break 10k dust requirement these days. It would help people to try out more decks and thus have more fun in the game!

I’d be supportive of adding dust rewards to dailies. One of my long standing complaints has been how awful the dust return on disenchanting is. I think it makes crafting cards feel terrible, and can intimidate new players for fear that they are disenchanting a good card. Having ANY amount of dust earned by dailies would allow new players/ f2p players to occasionally craft cards without disenchanting.

It would really improve the feeling of progressing your collection.
Which doesn’t exist right now, now that I think about it.
Anyway. It would be a huge improvement.
It would make players more happy, which in turn will improve the game’s image.
Yadda, yadda: more money. It’s literally that simple.
The dust rewards don’t even have to be as impactful as they are now.

Bingo. They already caved and made the Dailies “Play with X class” instead of “Win with X class”, likely because they wanted more people to play without getting so frustrated (the first time I quit for two years, it was after a 12 game losing streak when I just wanted my g**d*mn 50 gold that day). I have been enjoying Hearthstone a LOT more when I know I can stop after 3 games no matter what…but often, I win one or two of those three and keep playing anyway, because I’m HAVING FUN! gasp

There are many cards I’d love to try that I don’t have, and many cards I’m scared to disenchant for their dust because I’m a collector and I’m worried they’ll be useful some day. Getting more dust would allow me to make more cards, which I would then play more because I’d be having more fun. And even though I only infrequently spend actual dollars on Hearthstone, the times I have have all been when I’ve been having the most fun.

TL;DR: More dust = more fun = more dollars. Are you reading, devs?? Try it for 6 months and if your revenue doesn’t go up, I’ll be amazed.

That’s the issue with people making money the focal point of their existence.
At some point, they focus solely on short term profit. At the cost of everything.
Greed sucks (probably not just devs’ fault, though).

There are other issues. But I really don’t want to start a discussion on the follies of man.

there’s an article titled “kids love socialism until they get jobs” which could be called "kids love free stuff until they grow up and have to start paying for it "

but please, start a separate conversation about it.

for anyone who hates capitalism, you sure love playing capitalist games and buying capitalist products.

Not sure if you missed the XD in my post, but it was clearly meant as a light-hearted joke.

Jeeeeeesus. You have just proven that I am 4 parallel universes ahead of you.

Congrats.
