The Origin Stone (reward from Mage Quest The Forbidden Sequence) casts the options not chosen by the player from a discover.
When a player casts Hidden Objects (discover a secret) - the 2 extra secrets cast by the origin stone are revealed.
The screenshots on Reddit show that secrets included in other Discovers (e.g. from Tide Pools, or Pocket Dimension) are also revealed rather than hidden as they should be.
When a player plays a secret from their hand, it is not revealed. However that is not what is happening in your scenario. The Weapon The Origin Stone is the one casting it, not the player. Also the other two options from the discover process never entered your hand, so they arent even being played from your hand, they are directly played by the weapon from the discover pool they came from. That is why they are revealed while being cast by it. I understand your initial position on how you thought it should operate. I do. But it is consistent with other mechanics in the game prior where anything played by another source (a Minion’s battlecry, a spell itself, etc) that the spells they cast are displayed.
this is not consistent with how Yogg effects work though for example, like Yogg Saron and Yogg in a Box or other random effects do not reveal secrets as they are cast.
Secrets cast at random from other cards are not revealed by the history bar
They are only revelead if the same secret is already in place
It is how the one Mage legendary that recasts every spell that didnt start in your deck you had cast in that match. It will display whatever secret it replays from earlier in the match. Same for the rogue legendary that does a similar battlecry but catered to the spells you cast not from your class, it too will openly display the secret it casts from another class that you threw out earlier. (And no, I do not mean while the same secret is still in play)

The dragon that is immune to fire spells that casts 20 mana worth of random fire spells will also fully display the secret it casts. I dont know about being able to see it in the left side of the board that has the history that goes back like 4 or 5 actions, but I do know that if you are keeping your eyes open to the animations of the spells it is randomly casting it will show you the actual card of the secret as it is being cast just before the familiar secret icon is to appear on the other hero.
