Mage OTK in Twist mode balanced?

I faced a “OTK” mage with reduce mana/Drakefire amulet combo in the twist mode. I knew what was coming and tried my best to setup for a survivable turn. Mage used Solid Alibi twice at turn 7 and turn 8. He had nothing on board and I had 29 health, 36 armor and 27 health on my minions on board, in total 92 health. You would think this is enough but no!

The Mage managed to get one Lab Partner and one Astromanccer Solarian in addition to the guaranteed Drakefire Amulet spawn of Haleh. The mage also pulled off to cast enough spells to deal well and beyond the 92 hp needed to wipe the board and kill me off in one turn. The sky is the limit? Anyone that has simulated this mage deck on how much it can pull out in a turn and what is the avg percentile? Is it reasonable that it should be able to pull this off?

I like the new game mode, brings a new fresh vibe in a quick game clash between classes. Some classes got quick “nerfs” done to them after the release. I’m confused that this deck is still allowed to pull this scam rounds off.

Yes. They already got the best card draw in the deck banned.

If anything the deck is slower and more inconsistent now.

Like always instead of banning the amulet they just banned the support card. XD

Mage still easily has just as much draw power in the deck as many of the other decks. They went from having THE BEST draw power in Twist to being on par with the other decks that draw a ton.

So yeah, not banning amulet and banning a piece that isn’t even necessary for combo but just facilitates getting it slightly faster is a miss.
