This makes me wonder how many people didn’t actually read/comprehend the card.
It’s a deckbuilding puzzle and will be good. The fact that it prefers targetting enemies is already powerful.

No thanks , with my luck it will target face when i need a clear and the board when i need to clutch a win.
Screw that card, in a class that gave us Flamewaker you want to shove that 4 mana 1 time effect RGN down my throat lol.
0 play besides those poor souls that want to make elemental Mage work and get nothing but scraps.
I respect your game expertise. I mean that sincerely.
But this looks slow and stupid to me in a game that has aggro decks that kill you by turn 5.
I have claimed team 5 doesn’t like mage repeatedly, but that is me just reaching for any reasoning to explain why they constantly give the class slow, convoluted strategies that lose to the first deck with straight forward face burn.
“Giving RNG cards to Mage is bad. Unless that RNG card is easily abusable and quickly morphs into a situation with no actually RNG because I’ve eliminated factors that induce randomness.”
- The Mage Agenda
The Mage Agenda lol, did not see that coming.
yep. It’s all a devious plot for mages to take over the game, one dice roll at a time…
Total bs that i did not get the memo, Mage HQ is dropping the ball.
I love Mage reveal day lol.
More random bs.
Both Legies fit in the ‘random discover’ archetype that keeps getting pushed without end.
Even the minion has ‘random’ in its text you can’t make this up.
You guys there in Blizzard made one expansion leaning on Casino Mage and suddenly it’s an evergreen keyword. I won’t partake in this, whatever this is I will be no part of it.
Exactly. You don’t have to be a polymath to know what other classes do.
Their cards tell you exactly what will happen when you play them.
If RNG is so groovy, then why hasn’t Shaman, or Druid, or Rogue had it saddled on them as the main theme for 5 years and counting?
TBH the thread was fine and going places until Mallenroh walked in and literally opened with
I even engaged Mal in good faith for a couple posts before he, y’know, doubled down in this personal crusade.
Some us are looking forward to new cards in a game that we like. Others treat it like its holding a gun to their heads to force them to play.
I didn’t have hope but this is horrendous.
You didn’t give Mage a win condition in Badlands and you don’t give one now also
???
WHY
WHY must we keep playing the Full Hand Mage archetype that discovers with no end while also having some bs random combo like this one. WHO TF wants this … btw your win condition continues being Sif 7 months after because your Legendaries are all supplementary worthless includes.
Please, I don’t want to be negative but is there anyone that plays Mage that likes this
?
The only people that do is people that play Mage once in a blue moon and minami.
Some bs this is. And I don’t want to swear but it perfectly describes how this looks.
I’d rather have a winning, rng, full-hand OTK combo mage than an unplayable, tier 4 tempo mage deck, anytime, thank you
but oh well, ig not everyone has a winner’s mentality
Well…
Atleast lately(not only last patch) it is strong enough to be playable in standard with or without people trying to get it nerfed.
So i really didn’t have what to be bad about it.
Things did a turn i’m not expected(blizzard reducing drastically the amount of reclamations about it that ends in nerf).
But they in fact made a decision and sticked to it.
So i’m can’t be dissatisfied with this specific topic without feeling like i’m being a crybaby.
this card seems super fun, this is how cards are supposed to be, fun
Congrats guy have fun then.
I am sick and tired of putting Sif in my deck as a win con 7 MONTHS AFTER it came out.
I want to play a new deck … not f Sif Mage with supplementary Khadgar and this Spell.
Go have fun.
When your win condition obeys the main theme of the class and is extremely good, you don’t need another one.
Printing more win conditions for Mage is how you get things like current Warrior. That’s bad.
By the way, there’s very little about Sif that is actually RNG. Sure, the spells you generate from other schools are random, but the point isn’t to generate random spells to cast with Rommath. It’s to get a Holy/Fel/Nature spell to boost Sif.
In terms of your actual strategy, Miracle Salesman, Arcane Wyrm, and Flame Geyser have no RNG.
I do allmost 5k wins in standard so its not casual play on the class.
My favorite cards in Mage tend to be heavy mana control cards or combo cards.
So theres a market for those, would i like them to be less heavy on rng oh for sure but the Devs decided a long time ago that RNG was 1 of the class themes.
They made a decision to murder mage, and give it trash decks that win in idiotic ways, when the algorithm decides.
Meanwhile; their pet classes kill you immediately, with no brain work or tarot cards required.
It’s not about needing.
It’s about trying something new.
This will create a Tier 4 Lighshow type deck that will see play for the first 2 days of the expansion. It’s quite literally printed to stop Shudderblock from being broken, it’s not a Mage card.
God forbid Mage gets back to Tier 1 after months of being at the bottom of hsreplay. And please don’t bring up Casino Mage, it was a hype deck that only sees play in Top Legend because people can utilize the randomness to get the edge over their opponent.
It’s not an actually good deck unless you are playing in Top 100.
Exactly, reason why I am asking for a new Sif. Not bs random Legendaries.
You people that just try Mage once in a while can have fun with this. Because for me, after exhausting Sif Mage when it was good and even in Badlands I am sick and tired of playing it.
Badlands Legendaries didn’t see any play at all and now this. More ‘whatever Legendaries’ no thanks.
A theme that was forced on mage after they stripped it of burn, stall, and curve.
Let’s not drown in revisionism here.
