A 2 mana tempo loss isn’t… really a big deal.
Counterspell is pretty bad honestly, and very easy to play around, but most of the secret pool is situational more than it is bad. Summoning Ward is very hard to use well, but potentially powerful.
Sometimes Ice Barrier is fantastic. Explosive Rune is probably the most generally useful one, because it always does something. Either face damage, or clears a 6 health minion (or somewhere in between).
The main thing is being able to recast it I think.
It’s way too difficult to say with how impactful the rotation is. All the top decks are taking pretty significant hits. And pretty much every deck’s early deck is taking a HUGE hit except maybe Hunter?
So decks like Lightshow Mage, which struggle because decks come online so fast, could make more of an impact with some breathing room. But that’s losing a lot of tools too.
That’s a… weird comparison. Mecha Shark requires a ton of set up, you just drop this card and it does 3 mecha shark triggers without needing to play anything else or build your deck a certain way for 1 extra mana.
It’s like… a fine tempo card. Definitely good in Elemental Mage.

I’m really hoping this works. I am so tired of only having one mediocre deck to play because team 5 is married to Quest mage.
Mal I know you pride yourself in being an exclusively mage player but… after all these years playing this game; haven’t you accumulated enough gold and dust to just craft literally any other deck in the game? If you’re unhappy with the current state of mage, why not just try something else.
You probably have been told this before, but it’s honestly a little baffling.

I love the illustrations, they are handsome
But the card seems weak in general. the no minion archetype don’t work with the new freezing minions or watercolor artist. There is no clear win condition. I don’t find that very good.
Though I can see some hightroll happening with the yogg spell at 8 being discounted to 5 in a no minion mage.

Mage is a sensitive character cus everyone has played Mage. So “Majers” as I like to call them need to be pampered with power creep cards and oh boy… these cards hit the mark.
Hats off to the creators for appeasing the Mage fandom.
It is normal to have occasion where we need to vent.
But, I observed that that you can often lose control emotionally and derail other people’s thread.
This is only a personal view. Just sharing.

Look Mall, I´ll be honest with you. I really don´t like your attitude. You act like spoiled kid. Nothing is good enough for you and instead of trying to find joy in whatever you get your default position is negation of everything. You are so deep in this position that you negate even before you get new information - before patch notes released, before card release etc…
I play Hearthstone only for two years and Mage is my 3rd most played class. In those two yers we got:
- ping mage with Dawnsgrap hero + the guy who deal 10 dmg to every enemy if you´ve done 10 dmg with your hero
- Kel´Thuzad frost skeleton mage
- Mech mage
- Elemental mage
- Excavate mage
- Rainbow mage
All viable and very diverse playstyles. Some of them were very fun to play for me, some less…
But no, only what I hear from you is, Mage sucks, Team 5 incopetent and biased against mage… negativity, negativity, negativity… to the point I really believe it would be more healthy for you to just leave it for good and find some other hobby.
I know I sound and often act trollish, but you are sooo annoying with your attitude I cant help myselve.

I have a bad feeling about this, because I was playing a paladin filled with minions and it was obliterated by the warrior meme decks for the last 2 months and this is the other extreme,
I want balance.
Once…IRL…by mistake…I summoned a summoner.

Actually I would. I complain about the game, but I never insult it’s players.
