Im by no means defending big priest ima get that out of the way from the get go.
But after trying out even totem shaman I must say thats its a far stronger deck and even more rediculous.
Infact I belive the main issue with big rez priest is high rolling with illuminate rn.
Shaman should be a much higher deck on the nerf list. Its legit solitare i win deck thats even more fluid than big priest.
Big priest can get shut down if they draw the wrong card. While shaman dont really even need to worry about muligans cause everything just synergizes so well. You do but yeah its nothing like a good portion of decks. Im on a 8 win streak here in high legend.
Aggro decks in wild are always stronger than in standard; my solution to then is playing warlock with dark skies and defile.
Big priest has an intrinsic problem which is:
kill a minion â it gets ressed
leave it alive â a nee one is summoned
This from turn 4 is too early; but wild has been a mess lately, so I have no hope for it till the demon seeds rotates (maybe they have a big revamp in mind? Nah, it will just get unbanned like nothing happened)
Dont really work shaman has 3+ totems with +4 health on turn 3 copys them turn 4 with the weapon gives then +2-4 attack and your dead.
Yes this is a high roll but i done it many many times. Only thing that stops it is another shaman tbh.
Highlander Shaman is best counter to even shaman lmao go figure. The next best is warlock but a high roll use the murloc that makes you murlocs cost health instead of mana play the colosal turn 4.
Yeah i think shaman (im not just talking even shaman) is s++ tier followed by warlock at s+ tier then eveything else. Honestly warlock and big priest might be tied but over shaman is the best for wild rn for many reasons and should be top on the nerf bat. If any nerfs are truly needed.
Tbh wilds still over all in a far better state than standard rnâŚ
Wild should be on the back burner tbhâŚ
Standard is way more fuged up.
Even shaman doing so well has to do with the wild meta there are many counters for it its just the popular decks are not running its counters.
oh come on ,even shaman loses to better board flooding decks
for example it has a hard time against pirate rogue .
and also is susceptible to board clears, its unfovarable against things Renathal reno decks (because of high quality removals ),also it doesnt have infinite resources , if you clear the first big board its usually gg.
on the other hand big priest is the absolute tryant, " kill it before turn 5 or its over " is such an awful abysmal game experience.
Stats show even shaman as higher win rate than pirate rogue. Right in the hs replay link i shared.
Wile i have played the deck its not one i play a lot.
The deck is yes one of the easier decks to play in hs.
If you can get shadow essance early ez mind numbingly easy. More often than not you dont even end up discounting the card and end up not even playing till turn 6 and trying to survive with no minions till turn 6 can be chalenging. Even more so when they steal your shadow essance with theo. It happens quiet often.
Aggro decks are also crazy OP. I kill the minion they played, and they just play another minion. Itâs ridiculous, I donât know how itâs allowed to exist in the game.
Big Priest is the most flagrant offender of all time in wild, in my opinion. Itâs very oppressive, requires almost no thought, and creates more non games than any other deck. My opinion.
All card games like this have aggro decks go play others hearthstones are mild in contrast to others.
Also
Just had nep out on turn 4 as warlock. Then place bunch of other 8-10 cost cards for 1 mana one after another.
Yeah BP isnt even that bad. Dont try to say its a high roll thats how stupid warlock is rn you make your whole hand cost 1 and shuffle it in your deck.
Yall can be pissed about BP all day but there are much worse decks right now with much higher win rates.
I think youâre right about itâs present classification being tier 2.
Looking at the deck from a historical perspective, I would argue that overall, it is the biggest offender of all time.
I would rank Shudderwock Shaman of any iteration, at a close second, followed by early Jade Druid.
Hated by masses, creating non games, almost no player agency for the opposition.
But its been tier 2/3 for as long as i started going full send competivite on this game. I been playing since around release but didnt go full send competivite till after i damaged my shoulder in a work accident. This messed up from playing overwatch and other shooters (my aim has never been as good as it was).
But yeah i belive secret mage was the bigest offender when i started playing wild full send i think i had at one point at 70% win rate lol idk if that was looking at diamond or legend. BP at the time was diffrent but simular and had around 55%.
Lots of odd paladin at the time and cube locks.
Darkmoon fair came out (excuse me if im wrong here cant remeber what set palm reading is from off hand) palm reading was added ti the deck and scrap yard colosus and blood of gathun or w/e was added i played it then im not gonna lie it was a lot of fun but mage just ate thay deck alive.
Thank god for the sorc aprent nerf. Put mage in check real fast.
But in all honesty aggro priest was far supperior then and still is.
Thing is now druid uttterly destorys BP unless it high rolls with illuminate even then it can still get trashed.
Most shaman decks trash it due to devolveâŚ
Its just has a insaine high roll.
I mean i thought about nerfing illuminate bit that hurts other archtypes too much.
Honestly there are too many decks in wild trying to cheese getting neptune out super early rn.
The difference is that sometimes it is better for you to not kill a priest minion, because then they can use the ress spells they have in hand to summon more.
I used to leave them alive during the âinfiltrator priestâ/âkarthutâ meta, because they had low attack and they were vulnerable to transform.
Since blood of ghuun was released, you have no choice: you have to transform it immediately or if you canât kill the priest you are dead.
Leave it alive and youâll get 10 damage to the face the next turn (turn 5-6); you canât ignore them and just aggro, since they also have taunt
Iâm not sure about the math, but sure there are a lot of res effects in Priest these days so they probably do have one. But on the other hand, swinging for 10 on turn 5 or 6 doesnât sound like a lot of damage these days? Like thatâs the amount of a damage an Aggro deck will put out consistently if it doesnât get AOEâed, single target removal wonât keep up. And youâre dead on 6 if you donât have the tools to answer Aggro on curve.
Idk, itâs a popular deck that (to my knowledge) isnât overtaking the meta. In Wild. I donât know why Blizzard would do anything about it, since Wild is intended to be a place where people can play their favorite archetypes. There are a lot of decks there that make people miserable and I guess I donât see why Big Priest would be targeted as the one to get deleted.
With or without ress priest, wild will stay as unbalanced as it is, so I donât advocate for a change as well.
On the other hand I hope they will eventually create a new wild mode that gets frequent updates when a problematic deck appears.
Just because is wild, it doesnât mean that any deck can exist (including early uncounterable plays); i will have my answers when they will adress the demon seed, which is probably the number 1 non-game card ever created
I am referring to what they will do in April, when the banned card (if still banned) will be literally unplayable
I doubt they rework it, so they will either release it as it is with no change (like the old kaeltas), or hopefully make a wild 2 with a sort of rotation or even a banning list (while keeping also the current wild system, obviously)
