Lord Jaraxxus has already attacked

I just found out that if you attack with Guldan and then change to Lord Jaraxxus you can’t attack again. I feel like this should not be the case, the card Jaraxxus states that it destroys your hero and replaces it with Jaraxxus. In other words, Lord Jaraxxus isn’t the same hero as Guldan. If you can hero power with Guldan then hero power with Lord Jaraxxus(if you had enough mana). Why can’t you attack with Guldan and then Attack with Jaraxxus?

Because that would be busted as hell if you could attack with Garrosh then attack again with his DK.

But Lord Jaraxxus is a minion, it should work differently from DKs because it destroys your hero then replaces it. As with DK you are still the same hero but just turned into a DK.

This was changed some time ago. Was it 1-1.5 years ago? You used to be able to attack, change hero, attack again, but not anymore.

NVM. It seems you are aware of this.

Precisely this.

In fact, they actually changed the behavior such that switching to a new Hero does not refresh your weapon swing – it used to – leading into Knights of the Frozen Throne. This was a deliberate and sensible preemptive change in mechanics.

This is only true with respect to flavor. Furthermore, it completely disregards other Hero Cards: Thrall does not “turn into” Hagatha the Witch any more than Garrosh “becomes” Dr. Boom, Mad Genius, for instance; they are replaced.

Oh I thought I did that before, I just haven’t played lord jaraxus since dk came out.

So are you saying that it should work if I’m playing as Magni and turning into Scourgelord Garrosh, or Medivh into Frost Lich Jaina?

The actual art doesn’t matter, you’re still changing from a default hero to a new one, be it from a hero card or a minion’s effect.

Especially if you get Hagatha, Zul’jin or Dr. Boom from Academic Espionage.

But none of the other cards States that it destroys your hero and replaces it. So as far fitch as it is, Thrall could have casted a spell to turn into Hagatha. We can’t know for sure because the cards does not state it. Lord Jaraxxus specifically states it destroys your hero and replaces it.

Blizzard said specifically that Hero cards replace your hero. This is supported by the fact that a Hero card will remove any Freeze effect on your hero.

Think of it as Jaraxxus has summoning sickness. His battle cry is replace your hero, but he is not a charge minion, thusly must wait to attack until the next turn.
