Long animations take up my turn

I had strange fight yesterday, lost it cause i coulndnt play my turn - seemingly because my opponents animations took soooo loooooong that it used MY playtime?
He used adaptive amalgam+silver vanguard first, then brann bronzebard+Spiritsinger Umbra+da undatakah; da undatakah took deathrattles and so dies and respawn and dies and respawn etc and so on for over 5min! Then its directly his turn again and again…
Is this a bug, a cheat, or is it a normal/expected mecanic, that animations takes up the opponent playtime? Actually its like a valid combo he did, but if his animations are longer then i should get MORE time to play, not less! (like its the case with Shudderwock)

Your opponent’s animation time should never shorten your turn.

But sometimes it does, so yes this is a bug.

We don’t know if it is a cheat, because that depends if your opponent knew this would happen, and did it deliberately.

This happens SOOOOO often to me - it’s annoying as hell! I play from my iPad so, as I understand it, my turn is burned up by the slower animation via the iPad (this doesn’t make sense to me but that’s what I’ve read) however - why can’t we turn off animations? (I would’ve had to give up long ago if I had to listen to it also) but if we can turn off sound, why not turn off animations? Long animations have been complained about since the birth of the game… developers, please! Make it stop!!

I’m guessing it’s because they always want you to be able to see what your opponent does.
