Sure. It wasn’t a kind comment. For me, the reasons for which it was unkind justify it, or at least make it an understandable reaction. The context here, who Neon is responding to for instance, ought to be considered.
I tend to believe in the golden rule and also that two wrongs don’t make a right. At this point, for me, I’ve had enough of Mal and his behavior, that I couldn’t care less that the comment was inappropriate.
So, played against the Fye card again this morning.
I still wish the card did not do so much.
It plays like a table flip, imo.
I out-played the opponent right up until the card was dropped, then lost.
I haven’t faced the Z card that I know of, but I can imagine players feel the same frustration.
The presence of mutual or one-sided animosity doesn’t justify using the “context” excuse. As a member here, you’re expected to be impartial towards everyone or simply disregard interactions altogether.
You have two options: either choose not to report this and consistently turn a blind eye to similar comments in the future, regardless of the individuals involved, or report it and thus be allowed to address people’s conduct in the future. Choosing to act otherwise would contradict the code of conduct, which you’re entitled to do, but don’t attempt to portray the perpetrator as the victim and justify their emotional outburst.
In short, there’s no context that justifies NeonGhost’s comment.
I find the most effective approach to countering rush + lifesteal minions is to first reduce their health as much as possible and then maintain an empty board to prevent them from gaining life. Of course I don’t imply that for every turn thereafter where fye is to be expected but I mean it like so:
For instance, if you’ve managed to lower their health to 8 and you’re holding some burn spells, it might be tempting to play a 1/2 elemental with your leftover mana. However, proceeding to not do so can save you that extra 4 burn that is to be needed thereafter. Of course this contradicts the “use your mana” playstyle hearthstone players posses but such small decisions can go a long way.
Additionally, if your deck includes hard removal and you notice your druid opponent playing dragons early on, consider saving it to eliminate their big minions and deny them healing.
Additionally, employing the “no target to lifesteal from” strategy offers you the opportunity to deny their healing. By clearing the minion during your turn, you have more options available to you.
I appreciate your defense. Well reasoned and structured.
I don’t read their comments. I have had them on ignore
for a really long time.
Do you have any opinions on Cards that do multiple things like Z and Fye?
I feel like decks of this nature just reward pure aggro and stifle control.
Trolling isn’t allowed and these repeated crybaby mage threads are absolutely trolling. Their entire point is to bash the game, bash the devs, and make people argue.
This place was better when he was on a forced vacation, and I hope he goes back soon.
Exactly. The self awareness of a rock to call someone rude without irony.
This. It was absolutely beyond the pale and unrelated to the game in any substantive way.
It was really the last straw.
It is not inappropriate to want people who continuously troll and attack people to be held accountable for it.
We don’t have to all like each other, but attacking this person’s contributions to the board is not the same as attacking the person.
For all those who are off topic: This thread was restored, twice.
I am attempting to have a valid discussion, and would appreciate all who don’t wish to participate in the discourse to make their own thread addressing their concerns.
Wanting is a thought, not speech. So of course wanting a thing isn’t inappropriate.
But as far as expressing that want, it isn’t really appropriate behavior. Again, the appropriate medium is not to get on a soapbox and call a person a troll or a shill or an idiot (even if they are one), the appropriate medium is to flag the post and shut the heck up. It’s sad, people don’t even understand manners anymore.
I mean, I’ve been rude plenty, and perhaps regretfully, but for Pete’s sake I at least knew I was being rude.
Mal is right, this is all a massive derail and not an appropriate topic for discussion. Please forgive this last post of mine on the issue.
ll conclude by pointing out that it’s quite evident you didn’t do that.
Your intention was for them to be banned, not for this thread to be banned, which would probably also violate the code of conduct but might be easier to overlook, thus decreasing the likelihood of people reporting it enough for a moderator to review the comment.
From an outsider’s perspective, it appeared to be a personal attack over something trivial. Unwarranted and unjustified.
Regarding this matter, I can assure you that if a situation arises where Mallenroh is in violation of the code of conduct, I will report them as well. However, in this thread, I don’t see any violation from Mallenroh but merely, you.
A great many players may not be used to seeing me make threads of this nature.
I was lobbied to return to Standard, and as such, this is the result:)
I am seeing cards and interactions that I have never had to deal with before.
That leads me here to gain insight, and share opinions from those who have been in Standard all along, and thus, have a more nuanced opinion than mine would be.
I don’t understand any perspective that doesn’t acknowledge that everything said here is trivial, excluding perhaps things that should be moderated away for being too real. This is a discussion board for a card game, not a crusade.
Off the header topic, but I just faced another card I have never seen before, and Idk how the deck is performing, but the card seems really good.
The card is the siltfin spiritwalker, and the deck I think, is murloc shaman.
5 health on that card seems bonkers to me:)
Well, I’ll have more of these I’m sure. Playing in Standard for the first time since oh idk, must be at least six years, I’m bound to run into more cards I have never faced:)
Just faced another one. Hollow hound. DK/Hunter card.
Instant healing by lifesteal/rush and AOE on one card.
Dk seems to have alot of cards like this.
IDK guys. In many ways, Standard seems more broken than Wild does.
DK is a class that manipulates health, yes, specifically through one of its runes, the “blood rune” or, more appropriately, the red emblem. Many cards bearing this emblem tend to manipulate health.
However, your example of the hound doesn’t fit this pattern, likely because it’s a dual-class card and that would inconvenience hunter. (the second class of the card)
yeah, the card seems better for Dk than it does Hunter:) I’ve read threads where many of the players think the dual class cards failed
to benefit both classes equally.
