(This is personal so it’s optional if you answer it) What is your current life situation?
How long do you play a day/week?
What Rank have you achieved (Std and Wild)?
What decks have helped you progress the most (in Std and Wild)?
My own responses:
Married, between jobs, quarantined at home with 5 year old and wife, keeping kid company all day and trying to continue her learning while home.
About 30 min daily.
Standard, Gold 9; Wild, working to break out of Silver 1.
Standard, Dragon Hunter; Wild, Odd Quest Priest and Odd Hunter.
I often find myself frustrated and wishing I had more time to play HS… and then I feel guilty because I should be relishing this extra time with my kid. How do you all balance work, life, play?
1.) Kinda distressed. Nothing troubling, but I am mauling over the idea of moving this Summer for personal reasons.
2.) For me, I like to try an play some every day. Sometimes you just can’t, but whether it’s a few games or hours I don’t time myself. I can usually be found online late my time.
3.) Standard I think my highest was 5 or 4? I’ve been Legend in wild. With the new system I am at Bronze Chicken atm. 9 stars to play with in standard an 10 for wild.
4.) I took Renolock to Legend in wild back in January of this year. My desire an love for the archetype got me there. (Ok, really it was people from this very forum that encouraged me to try. Especially Schyla). But I am thankful for alllll of them.
In very a poor mental health situation nobody seems to care of. Highschooler with too much time on his hands. Been sleeping and playing games for the last month. Parents are in a decent living situation as well now.
Maybe 4-6 hours a day.
3k legend using DH and still fighting in Legend with Rez Priest, Totem Shaman, and Highlander Mage. I do not play Wild.
DH shot me up Diamond by itself for my first time legend. Back in RR I broke from rank 17- to rank 5 and stayed there since (and above) using Odd Control Warrior. But prior to AoO I played Highlander Mage, Dragon Hunter, and Rez Priest.
Stay at home dad (House Husband) and like you, at home with my wife and 11 year old daughter. We do home schooling anyway so being at home is not new for us.
Every day from about 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
Gold 10 (Standard), Bronze 10 (Wild, don’t play Wild)
I usually rotate through the classes and whatever the daily quest is at the time.
Demon Hunter: OTK or Combo
Druid: Spell Druid
Hunter: OTK Hunter
Mage: No Minion Mage
Paladin: Libram Paladin
Priest: OTK Priest
Rogue: Secret Rogue
Shaman: Evolve Shaman
Warlock: Galakrond or Phaoris Warlock
Warrior: Galakrond or Taunt Warrior
The streamer I follow is Thijs. I try and create what Thijs makes and a mixture with a few of my own combos. The reason why I play at the times I do is through dinner. My family and I eat dinner separately so I sit in the chair with a dinner tray and play through till when I eventually get up and do the dishes haha.
My daughter has her own account and sometimes plays, and my wife is not a gamer sadly.
You don’t understand why someone would just want to maybe chat and learn some more about their fellow human beings, and see how everyone is doing, at a time like the one we’re living in? That says something about you, I guess.
Maybe, we all struggles as well, and just do what we can. Give ourself a pat sometimes. Push ourself sometimes. Having a friend or close one to share the burden, sometimes…
There is always someone that cares. just that it is not who we expect they/them are…
I’m sorry you’ve been struggling a bit lately. I can’t imagine missing out on the only good part of high school, which is seeing the friends you’ve made. Hang in there!! We’ll get through this.
Aw! How old is your daughter? Mine is too young to play a game like HS, but she enjoys watching the Pokemon anime, and helping my wife and I catch them in Pokemon GO. So recently, I started a new game of Pokemon Sun on the 3DS, with her as the player, and we play together. I gifted her some of her favorites that I’d caught previously, and help her with battle strategy… she mainly enjoys feeding and petting them
She has Pokemon Sword on the Switch and we’ve played with some Pokemon cards together. I have Pokemon Shield that I’ve barely touched. World of Warcraft and Hearthstone are my jam at the moment, but we do play Minecraft together on the Xbox.
I’m a teacher teaching from home. My wife was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer about 6 months ago, so we are in complete lockdown, as she is extremely high risk. My 9 year old son recently requested to play hearthstone. He struggles, but enjoys battlegrounds.
I play too much. Before the ‘rona it was probably about 2-3 hours a night. Lately been more like 5-6 hours a day. I’m bored.
This season I have reached Diamond 1 (with 3 stars!), but am currently sitting at Diamond 4. I haven’t played wild under the new ladder format, but my highest past rank was 4 (under the old system).
I climbed to my highest rank this season using a secret highlander hunter and a dragon hunter before the expansion. Since the expansion, I’ve been messing around with a lot of different decks, but having the most fun with No Minion Mage, Control Priest, and Gala Warlock.
I work for Lowe’s so I’m “essential”. Fiance also works an essential warehouse job. 4 kids at home ages 11-16. Life’s pretty awesome.
I play Hearthstone probably on average 2 hours a day. Sometimes I don’t play at all and other times I can be on all day. It really depends on what’s going on. Our house is full of gamers and binge watchers so it works out really well.
Got to legend in standard before and rank 1 or 2 in wild. Wild is more for goofing off though.
Renolock in wild. In standard I’ve strictly been using Secret Rogue. Before, I would only use Spirit/Bwonsamdi priest as it is my absolute favorite. I love shuffle decks which is why I now main Rogue in standard (togwaggles scheme is awesome!)
About 7 years ago, my then 8 year old son started playing World of Warcraft with me. We’d sit side by side - I’d do the mouse, turning the character, and he’d do the keyboard, attacking and moving. A couple years later and we got him his own account. Nowadays he carries me through dungeons and today he was actually in the Mythic Invitational.
Oh… and I just hit Gold 5 on Standard with a Big Dragon Druid deck! Woohoo! Good deck and super fun to play. I’ve also been trying a few DH builds, mainly the tempo one… meh. And a couple of Hunters… also meh.
Sure, but my Renolock is…greedier than normal. lol I made mine to go infinite.

How to go infinite:
Merchant hits Gul’dan
Shriek hits Baleful Banker
Play Soulwarden later which gives you Gul’dan and Banker. Banker the Soulwarden. Rinse and Repeat.
Married, 1 kid. Employed as a handyman, currently also filling in as manager while hes off due to high risk wife, for a community service organisation. Reminds me why I wanted out of management - damn I hate dealing with idiot CEO’s!
1-2 hours per day, 3-4 days per week.
High of rank 3 way back in the TGT era with Dragon Control Warrior. Currently, as many know I fool around with janky memes in the scrub ranks of wild, or whatever MMR bracket that is. Gold 5 atm in wild, Bronze 10 standard and that is unlikely to ever move.
End of Turn/Zoo Priest, Spiteful/Beast Hunter, Egg Rogue and OTK Patronlock are my current go to decks, but I also have a Noggenfogger/Mogor Big Priest for when I feel like trolling people.
I often wonder if there will come a day when my kid is playing a game that I’m no longer good at, and they’re like “Ugh, Dad, you need to git gud at this new Pokémon Universe, be sure to feed your Ultra Pikachu the Tungsten Berries so it can perform Fusion with Epic Charmander and use its Hyper Move ‘Volcanostorm!’” and I’ll be like, “Back in my day, Pokémon could only learn 4 moves!” Congrats on Gold 5 too, that’s my current goal!
Haha, looks insane… maybe I have some crafting to do…
Hahaha, whenever I get Noggenfogger from an evolve or other random pull, those games become 500% more fun
