Are weapon cards like ‘Aluneth’, ‘Dragon soul’, and ‘Skull of Man’ari’ supposed to play around a deck containing two “remove 1 durability from opponents weapon” minions, since they don’t lose durability when activated and they have 3 durability?
Because they never really lose durability unless you discover an attack spell.
Yes modern cards just destroy a weapon outright

Ah yes, I ask because I see that the weapon doesn’t lose durability for its interaction.
Weapons only lose durability when you attack with them or they specifically mention it as part of an interaction, like with the Bulwark of Azzinoth.
Otherwise, they’re essentially just passive effects that are vulnerable to weapon removal.

Yes exactly, so the addition of needing 3 durability is to do what?
That was the main intention of my initial question.
If it doesn’t get used up, then is it for the counters like “Bloodsail corsair” and “Toxic Sewer Ooze” that might be in the other deck?

Maybe.
But both of these cards are actually younger versions, the first on was in the Classic set and destroys the weapons no matter what:
Acidic Swamp Ooze (2 Mana 3-2)
“Battlecry: Destroy your opponent’s weapon.”
I’ve always assumed these kind of cases were for the benefit of cards that gain something from weapon removal, like harrison jones

Oh yes that makes more sense, thanks for the clarification!
