Last April 2020 season, I hit legend rank for the first time and I know that you have announced that first time hitters will get a random legendary card as reward but I did not received one. I know one who i follow on twitter got his legendary card reward. Is this a bug? Hope to hear from you soon.
The first time reward is awarded immediately when you reach the rank, it is not put in the end of month reward. The wording of your report suggests you did not get the reward in the end of month chest, which is normal.
I see, if that’s the case, i did not receive any reward upon hitting legend last season, the exact date i got into legend rank was on april 17. I even video recorded the end of that particular match and there was nothing except the legend cardback reward. Do you think it’s a bug?
Possibly. You can open a support ticket (link at the top of this page) and they may be able to tell you which card (if any) you would have received. It may be that the step of showing the reward is the part which glitched, and a card might have been added to your collection anyways. Note that the reward is a Classic Legendary card, so that limits the number of cards you would need to check. Also, you might be missing some Legendary cards but still have all Classic ones, and thus you would get a duplicate, meaning it would not have the “new” tag when you look at your collection.
I will definitely contact support regarding this. And i just checked my collection of all classic legendary cards i have and i am pretty sure nothing new is added. Thanks.
Do you get a legendary only the first time you hit legend?
Yes, according to https://hearthstone.gamepedia.com/Ranked#Rewards.
The regular reward for hitting legendary is a pack (in addition to the rewards for all the previous ladder tiers). The first-time legend reward is a Classic Legendary.
I also didn’t get a legendary for hitting legend first time recently. Curious if your issue eventually got resolved? How long did it take blizzard to respond to your ticket?
