I have been playing BG for long around 7k-8k range.
I am not happy with the changes made.
Why?
I don’t have time to read and learn all the new minions and stuff.
This is crazy when you have to relearn everything.
There is no way I am touching this mode unless I have to read through pages of changes and comments … There is no way for me to do that when all I was looking for was just some fun.

Not sure if you are serious or trolling. Leaning towards the later but who knows.
Learning the new things is the fun part. I have never heard a constructed player say “o noes not another expansion i dont want new cards and having to learn what they do”. Maybe bg players are build different.
Either way there is no need to stress. This update is easy to learn compared with previous updates (if you skip duos that is). There isnt all that many new things just a few minions that changed.
Duo,s i asume has a lot to learn,if you want to be really good. But that you have to learn with a dedicated teammate because it seems a bit pointless to put effort into the mode if you go que random at typical ratings.

I don’t believe you
There are a lot of new and returning minions with new strats for familiar builds among the majority of the tribes, but it isn’t that difficult to grasp after a handful of games.
I wouldn’t expect an average player to have as much difficulty as you describe here sifting through all the new stuff

I didn’t bother to try even 1 single BG game tbh.
I saw the page long update and had no interest of learning.

Maybe this is what you enjoy, but there are others who detest that ramp up time and just want to play.
I actually agree with the op that it sort of sucked the air out my interest in BGs with how massive they moved things around. I haven’t even queued up a bg since the changes.
Blizzard just isn’t sitting right with me since the patch.

Some of the veteran players like us are turned away.
And the new players are not gonna understand @#%$ when they try this BG mode and get destroyed. I remember my first time playing BG and was like #@$ is this.
This BG mode will suffer if they keep doing things like this to it.

Now I know you’re trolling

so many words and OP didnt mention what part about the changes hes struggling to understand
I’m thanking the heavens for the BG changes, with Standard a sea of toxic decks, it’s good to have a mode of the game offering something new and different.
I love it… it makes it mew and fresh and brings new life to bg’s. I love how they have rotated card back in while bringing in some new ones. I really do like the fact that it never stay’s stale.
it takes me less than 2 seconds to read and understand a card, what is so hard about 2 lines of text?

Similar to Arena, BGs is a format where you need to predict which synergies you are likely to be offered in the future. So you don’t just need to read the cards in front of you, you need to read all the cards that aren’t in front of you. Basically memorizing the text of one additional set of cards.
I still don’t think that that’s all that hard, but you’re really oversimplifying it. It’s like a 20 minute task (one I find enjoyable, ymmv) not a 2 second one.

Sure, it can be a little annoying to not have played a perfect game because you didn’t anticipate some synergies.
But they also reset everyone’s scores/mmrs so you literally have nothing to lose playing your first few games. Unless you’re just an Uber try hard and it infuriates you.
I was in the low 7000s when the patch hit and I’m pretty happy with the new changes. Seems like dragons might need to be toned down a bit, but so far so good. Hoping they bring buddies back mid-season.
What i would give to be able to do that with the ease you are able to… I have to read each new card as i encounter them for about the first couple on months until i begin to form the connection of their image to their function/effect. It takes many many games to get that correlation to begin to settle in my mind. Combos or interactions of certain minions take a lot longer until I either see it on my opponent’s board doing crazy things to me, or i encounter it here as a strategy posted.
but yeah, when each tribe got new minions at every tier the turns just arent long enough to be able to read the tavern and then refresh and read the new one and so on.
do you not read at the same speed at which you speak aloud? i.e. the internal reading “voice” you “hear” when reading. its the same voice you hear while speaking but its entirely internal. 2 seconds is barely enough time to get from the top of the card art to the bottom of the art to even start reading where the card text starts.
odd detail i learned about that voice, try as you might, it cant raise its volume lol.
Well I might have been exaggerating a little bit. For example, it might take me 40 minutes on a bad day. I was pretty well caffeinated this patch though.

Hold up missed this
No lol. That’d be slow af
It is NOT okay that you think this is normal
Your post makes no sense.
There is no special gimmick this season. Such as quests/buddies.
They rotated some minions in and out to keep things fresh.
And did some much needed updates to some tribals.
How did you originally learn BG’s is the question I want to ask? You legit had to “re-learn” everything basically every new season they released. Part of BG’s is just learning as you go, making mistakes, and discovering builds. Almost every autochess-esque style of game is very similar in that matter.

Did I miss when they made the BG rating actually worth something? If it is still worthless, I really don’t see the problem with new content. No pressure to win, just try new things and have fun.
You could always try TFT where they…oh wait they mix it up even more frequently than BG’s do. I guess you need to play a game where the same meta exists for years and years. Of course a game like that probably doesn’t exist as the player base would just leave the game due to boredom.
