I know Demon hunter has problems and isn’t S tier. But Kurtrus, Demon-Render is a overpowered card and needs a Mana or stat nerf. For 6 Mana you get
Two 1/4 drops with Rush which upgrade to two 4/4 at turn 6.
A 2 attack refresh able Hero power for 1 Mana
5 Armor
There’re other way to strengthen demon hunter.

He’ll probably skate by another expansion without nerfs, and that’s fine I guess. They want the heroes to be pretty busted for the hero expansion.
Felfire Deadeye and Expendable Performers rotate soon. No reason to nerf before rotation just for the problematic combo to rotate out

I mostly play wild. Many people do and for them it doesn’t matter which cards rotate
Kurtrus is pretty underpowered compared to the other hero cards. His only saving grace is the refreshable hero power. Even with the Expendable Performers, Deadeye combo, the player still struggles to just do 26 damage of burst requiring the other player have 13-14 health worth of minions on board, when other classes can do mega burst of 40+ damage without requiring anything on the opponents part other than them letting them live to the point where they can combo off.
I’m not sure where people are playing Demon Hunter on ladder, but I haven’t seen one in awhile. That combo you speak of, isn’t that bad to be honest and I think the power level of this card is fine.
he sure is very strong, but so are other hero cards and it really is more of a druid situation where you want to basically get him on curve so you can really add up the chip-dmg instead of later on when he does add very little value.
the combo with deadeye and expandables is admittedly brutal, but right now it also is kinda needed to grant DH any reach and it´ll rotate out anyway.
That isn’t how the card works. The demons it summons is based upon how many times you’ve attacked with your hero that game. The card is situational and isn’t fool proof. It’s quite underwhelming if your opponent fails to create a big enough board (which many players do intentionally to avoid Kurtrus OTK).
That but is true, although it absolutely is frustrating that the hero card limits your opponent to half their current life total in minion health if they don’t want to just die on the spot.
It has big ETC OTK vibes.
And despite that it is still performing worse than most classes. Considering the other hero cards and their power levels, I believe this card is relatively benign. It’s powerful but not game breakingly so.
I honestly think fel demon hunter is underplayed compared to its power. The last VS report listed it as a T2 deck everywhere, and the third best deck in top 1k legend.
I agree. I suspect it’s similar to why we don’t see more Handlocks. The deck is almost identical to what it was before AV. People want to use their newer cards.
I recommend “nerfing” Kurtrus by turning him into a different character
I hate his design and would greatly appreciate some other demon hunter that’s not a poorly designed OC.
Also the amount of setup to die to him is ridiculously easy to play around.
Once Kurtrus is on field treat the game like p2 of a raid boss, don’t play any more big tanks or you know theyre gonna hit you with performer / felfire guy.
I’ve made the mistake too many times and got punished for it.
In the era of every class having an otk the moment you see who your opponent is always mentally prepare for how to counter their usual OTK
