Besides early weapon removal, blocking spells, or a wall of taunt minions I can’t think of how this deck can be countered. The deck has an insane amount of buff and draw options, as well as defensive tools. Could this be a future candidate for a nerf?
You can use stickyfingers. Steal your opponents weapon.
Might have to consider that. Problem is the game is basically over by turn 5.
But like said. It is still a risky minion to put on a deck. Not all decks have weapons and not all rogues will use kingsbane. 5 mana 4/4 is risky.
Welcome to aggrostone. Control decks are always nerfed to hell because how Team 5 makes them.
I’m stuck at diamond 5 in wild and seems like the only two decks I play against is Kingsbane Rogue, or some broken Druid deck.
Ah… Well I don’t know how you feel. I’m just a casual player that likes long games. I lose pretty much a lot. But still playing legendary cards with animations is really cool.
I don’t mind losing but concedeing on turn 3 or 4 is getting rather frustrating haha. A lot of these games are decided on the first three turns.
Yeah I felt that. It sucks when you want to win, but the chance will never come often.
Kingsbane rogue can be essentially hard countered easily but your now reliant on trying to draw that counter before they kill you. Band manager ETC with a sticky as part of the band in case I don’t need it
most of there cards are dedicated to buffing that single weapon so stealing it is almost a guaranteed win. Just make sure you use up the durability incase there’s is a slight chance they take it back lol. Mine rogue still ends up being more of a problem more often than not for me
you can put sticky finger in a etc band
Sticky Fingers is the perfect tech vs Kingsbane. As others said just add it into your ETC sideboard.
I don’t think it’s a worth while tech, if the kingsbane rogue player is good he will play around this move. Even then if you decide to run this tech then you are better off playing sticky finger without ETC Band, that way he doesn’t know it’s coming and he cannot do anything about it and if he doomerangs or something you’ve honestly just lost on the spot because 4 mana 4/4 add a brick to your hand is a low tempo play, the next time that kingsbane is coming out he will have lethal from hand.
Maybe i’m just unlucky (in fact, i’m probably am) but ETC is far too slow for kingsbane rogue. It’s a 2 turn set up and you don’t even deal with the board, or damage from hand.
I have died with Reno in hand, but game never even reached turn 6.
The way I build my decks its not too slow for me lol. If they got time to really build up that much of a board, then their not buffing their weapon as much though obviously getting ETC too late will still be a gg
regurlarly hit D5-D1 every month with nothing but homebrew nonsense. Ofcourse your going to struggle with a reno deck in my opinion because your not putting enough pressure on them.
Usually while their swinging there weapon at my face, I have things on board swinging back sometimes forcing them to waste durability on a minion instead slowing them down enough to steal it later.
How is a turn 4 ETC into T5 Sticky Fingers to slow in a best case scenario. I would say you’re just unlucky. Kingsbane Rogue can surely build a strong weapon fast, but ETC isn’t too slow.
So you must have played an extreme greedy version to let Kingsbane play his game to kill you early or he was pretty lucky.
Also nice funfact about Kingsbane. Small taunts and swarming the board is the bane of this deck, because it can’t really clear the board, except two times with Blade Furry, which also destroys Kingsbane. That’s why swarm decks are strong favoured against it.
That means play for the board and win the game, if you ignore the board and just plays reactive only 1-2 minions, you will most likely lose.
If you face a lot Kingsbanes it’s always worth with ETC and you don’t weakens your deck, but just make it overall useful. Consider Sticky Fingers is also useful against other weapons too for example Twig.
Two powerful decks countered by one card. Why not run it?
isnt the only way to play around sticky fingers to destroy the weapon every single turn?
Yeah, but rogue runs 3 different cards that can destroy the weapon and it basically has the best draw of any class. In a hypothetical situation they would most likely have one of these in hand or else they have a secret passage and can 1 mana to see another 4 cards, the chances are they have pulled this and destroyed their weapon after swinging at you for like 5 damage so now you have a 4/4 steal a weapon in your hand and rogue has no weapon, but he has a board with like 15/15 worth of stats because it’s turn 4.
Kingsbane has 3/3’s and 2/2’s that cost 0, I have played a lot of kingsbane and I can tell you that putting down 8/8 worth of stats on turn 1/2 is not that uncommon, you are looking to close out by turn 4/5 with this deck, there aren’t too many different ways to deal with wide board stats of 2/1’s 2/2’s 3/3’s on turns 1,2,3, there are some and that’s why we are seeing certain decks.
Yeah some slower decks might want to run sticky fingers, but I am guessing it is more likely to try and steal twig, though a druid is likely to destroy their own twig in the turn it’s played or the turn after so again playing ETC waiting a turn and then playing sticky fingers is too slow, you’d rather just have the sticky fingers in hand and it might not necessarily improve your winrate overall by including it in your deck, you’d have to be the kind of person who likes or enjoys running hard tech cards.
My taunt warrior homebrew deck always beat them. I imagine fast deck also will favorable.
Tbh, I love it when old mechanism resurfacing. Thats the point playing in wild.
I played against crystal core rogue today and it refreshing and bit nostalgic. Too bad the patches arent charging. Lol
I played against one that kept refreshing loathab. Didn’t go their way lol. An annoying deck to face though…
Playing legend 230 - 350, most of the decks I face are kingsbane rogues. We need tech cards like:
“Steal a weapon from your opponent’s deck”
“Silence a weapon in your opponent’s deck”
“Silence your opponent’s weapon”
“Put your opponent’s weapon 2 turns in the future”
“Devolve your opponent’s weapon”
Kingsbane Rogue is way too strong. He has the guarantee to get his weapon every turn, he has lifesteal, can be immune, can be invisble, dan deal aoe … it’s what we call “Eierlegende Wollmilchsau” in german.
