It really signalled the beginning of what we have now: incredibly efficient value stats with no downside. I was excited to come back to play twist, but it’s 90% jade golem decks which completely demolish all other midrange AND control decks. nothing can keep up with turn 5 5/5’s that you get for only 1-2 mana extra. After that, there was no going back. and look where we are now…
is the jade golem counter card in twist?
Jade golems were a ‘bait’, as they call it, back in the day, actually. Sure, it sounded scary in theory, infinite value and so on, bigger then C’Thun (another ‘bait’ before it), but in practice, it was just too slow. Patches meta, disgusting pirate warriors etc — that’s what it was all about back in Gadgetzan.
You mean the jade rogue? Yes, it’s disgusting, but mostly due to the new card (its author should be executed) and some buffs to older ones. Besides, it was nerfed a bit.
I’m not even sure it’s the most ‘cancerous’ deck nowadays, compared to stuff like handbuff paladin (!) — just think of it — and such…
Finally, it’s the XL season now, 40 HP are actually a big deal. Try something like an XL Handlock (this one will actually warrant a capital letter from me here) — it’s probably one of the best or most fun things I’ve seen or played during my whole time in traditional HS.
You mean that geist? It’s not, and it’s not a counter to jade golems, since it’s not about Jade Druid at all, it’s that disgusting rogue.
