Thank you elemental mage opponent for not killing it when I dropped it on 4, such that I could magnetic a taunt on it next turn, and then spend the next few turns running half a dozen minions into it, which is probably like the last 300 damage out of 888 I needed
And I also like to thank RNGesus, for not only giving me that old pally weapon that gives a minion divine shield (and taunt, but I didnât need it) , but also having wand maker give me that spell that gives a divine shielded minion +2/+3. You later even let me discover an extra board clear to deal with the surger turn
And who could forget best boy Zilliax, running recursive this time, giving me some safety margin. Yeah even though my face was pretty safe after octo taunt was up, you made sure I was at full health when mage finally gave up
Peace out and good night!

Hmm had I known you were working on this, I would have suggested playing a DK deck and slapping threads of despair on the octo and then you hit all the minions for 8 damage a pop.
But when your opponent helps you out, itâs always nice as well.
I think I choose pally because I was also doing âwin with tourist in deckâ achievement, and I donât have the DK/shaman tourist.
And I was doing Earthen with tourist, figuring that octo can serve as a neutral minion to help me fight board before earthens get going. Itâs probably a lot stronger play than going for the Earthen 4 drop right away⌠provided you draw it.
Like many pally (and non-pally) decks it can work when I donât get screwed in the mulligan/curve out.
I think I like earthen tourist more than taking the old handbuff and making it weaker by slotting in tourist stuff, but even in that deck there are some fun plays. Using the rogue 4/4 to repeat a painterâs virtue is like a better version of the handbuff pally that runs the 1/1 neutral that adds durability to weapon. But running the rogue cards means less room for the usually rushes or tarim or whatever better minions that complements handbuff.
I think octo + taunt magnetic might actually be a disgusting thing against wide boards. The fact nobody uses it seriously though kinda implies that a) people have even better ways to deal with wide boards, which implies that b) people have evolved to not just use wide boards⌠and thatâs how you arrive at the evolve shamans pun intended, the handbuff pallies, flood pallies dropping giants and using zilliax/aura to push them out of regular AoE range, decks that simply forget about board and do stuff from hand, etc
