Jotun Bug When Triggering Eruption

So recently I’ve been using Incindius in my Demon Hunter deck to see how Eruption interacts with Jotun. What I discovered is that, when Jotun’s effect goes off, it casts the original Eruption, which only does 1 damage. Jotun’s text is “Cast a copy” so I’m under the impression that it should cast the upgraded one instead…usually minimum 2, but have gotten to 5 so far. Anyways, please let me know what you guys think. Thanks very much.

Unknown to me how it is suppose to work, however I would guess it falls under the same “copy” coding as Sasquatch who says “Repeat each card you played last turn.” yet when it repeats cheese it summons three 1 drops(base version) not what ever you aged the cheese to.

There are many effects in hearthstone that work this way and many that work the way you want, the cup from Marin should add buffed copies to your hand(haven’t personally checked but I believe it is suppose to work that way)

I understand where you’re coming from there. I feel like the main difference though is that Eruption goes into the deck, and upgrades as long as Incindius is on the field, whereas Cheese stays in hand. If you try to shuffle Cheese, then it loses all progress, whereas Eruption wouldn’t.

Sasquawk is different, since it says repeat every card you played last turn. As such, it doesn’t specify. Jotun specifically says “Cast a copy of the first spell you draw each turn at enemies.” That’s why I feel like Jotun should be copying the exact upgrade. I can confirm that Fortunes from Soothfancy copy the upgraded version which is in the deck. Theoretically, Jotun should be doing the same thing.

This - the spell you draw has the upgraded damage, therefore the copy of (the spell you draw) should as well.

Jotun is hard enough to build into a deck, without the basic mechanic not working as it says it should.
