Yeah, it seems like you haven’t actually read that, or understood it.
Basically you can achieve the 50% desired result with much less effort than you’re imagining.
If you pitched a complex algorithm concept that includes deck makeup in a design meeting, anyone who knows their stuff would point out you can achieve the same thing with much less fuss, by simply matching people with random opponents from a pool of others who share similar rankings. Natural selection processes are extremely powerful and form the backbone of many bleeding edge AI driven applications.
This is a little off topic, but so far everyone else has been going off topic.
Has anyone read Iksar’s twitter post about introducing a ban to ranked standard mode?
Why would he ask this unless they perceived some issues with their current system? It’s because of the power-creep and the polarization currently in the game.
Their old system isn’t working as well as it used to.
And how exactly do you want us to take that screenshot as proof ?
This is literally on a different account name and it doesn’t even show its battletag # so literally anyone could’ve taken that screenshot… especially since they are playing against a famous french streamer from solary, Tars…
It could also be a screenshot early in the month… and everyone knows hitting top 100 early means nothing.
I’ve hit top 100 before just because of day 3 Legend and it really doesn’t mean anything.
I could search for a top 1 Legend screenshot on google and claim it’s on my alt account.
If you say you’re in bronze… or silver… or gold then your opinions don’t matter to everyone else because ‘lol low rank’.
If you say you’ve taken multiple accounts into high legend within a matter of days ‘lol he’s lying’.
You really can’t please the culture here friends so my advice? Don’t even try.
The whole point of this post was to help people who were trying to climb but you can’t even do that without a bunch of forum regulars getting offended.
Here’s a tip for good forum etiquette. If you have nothing conducive to add… just don’t comment.
You don’t see me derailing everyone’s thread.
Anytime I post on these forums under someone else’s thread I always have something to say that supports the OP.
Maybe take this opportunity to learn some good manners.
Why? So everyone can say that I copied it off the internet?
Not worth my time.
And again… not worth my time.
I was lying before my first screenshot according to you all. Don’t cast your pearls to pigs so they can trample them right?
Anyway, hope this helps whoever wants it to help. Later.
You seem to misunderstand me… I’ve been Legend 20+ times, made it into the top 100 Arena leaderboard, I am not impressed even a little by a top 100 screenshot. I’ve also been in the top 100 before.
The point I’m making is that this screenshot doesn’t prove anything to begin with.
You can literally hit legend day 2 and have that top 50 rank and end up finishing top 3000. If you want to ‘‘prove’’ your top finishes you need to provide link of the official ladder leaderboard finishes.
I think it’s admirable that you can achieve high legend, and honestly respect to you, but being a great player does not give you credibility when it comes to software engineering.
Oh look, the usual suspects. As usual, derailing every thread, attacking peoples’ characters, demanding proof; then when proof is provided, decrying said proof as either faulty or not to their lofty standards.
The absolute state of them. Don’t bother, OP, these slack-jaw, snivelling shills aren’t worth it.
I remember coming here and discussing my suspicions (not my assertions, mind you, merely my suspicions) that there was some algorithm at play with opening hands. How I consistently started with the same cards every single game. These same fools did all of the above: attacked my character, my intelligence, etc. and demanded proof. I provided proof: I queued into as many games as I could in a five minute window, and took screenshots with timestamps showing my opening hands and surprise, surprise, the same cards. This was a reproducible phenomenon; in total a sample size of about 30 games with the exact same cards. I calculated the statistical likelihood and it was astronomical. I even encouraged people to challenge me on it.
Half of them said it was statistically impossible (and thus insinuated or outright accused me of doctoring the screenshots), the other half said it was not statistically anomalous - none of them saw the irony in their radically different explanations.
It’s not worth the headache arguing with these clowns. They’re too stuck in their ways. Nor is it worth explaining to them that the issue isn’t Blizzard impeding you with their algorithms, rather that half the time you benefit from unfair matchups and thus can never feel confident that your victories are attributed to merit.
Not the exact same hand, the same card: Aranasi Broodmother, which at the time, was statistically the worst card to start with. No matter how many times I would mulligan it out, it would come straight back. Approximately 30 games in a row. There were other disadvantageous cards that were appearing more frequently than they should, but that particular card was the one I was taking note of.
