I think they should just allow class bans at this point. Even if it just allows banning of 1 class at a time it would solve so many things, such as Demon Seed. They would no longer have to keep buffing and nerfing so many problem things because the power would always be with the player to decide which of the most problematic or degenerate decks they refuse to face. People already auto-concede anyway to certain things…why not just cut out that process altogether?
I would play wild again if the Demon Seed was banned. The Wild format was my main mode until the Demon Seed was printed. Now, I just play standard. I agree with OP, this card just simply has no place in the game.
The only functional way I could see “class bans” working is that it still paired you against them randomly, but automatically conceded for you from the match up. Giving you the same results as if you manually conceded like you already can now. They’d never make it function any other way, because as stated before, it’d be too much of a contamination of the status of the ladder and players climbs on it.
Maybe thats what you decided to read from what I wrote, but I was giving an example to ZAetherZ of 1 counter available to them in order to refute their claim of “NO counter” for quests. You may wish to talk down about everything I ever say in the way you belittle the effectiveness of the card, as you tend to talk down about anything I ever say. But it doesnt make my statement about it being SOMETHING to counter quests suddenly not true.
At absolutely no point in this conversation was anyone talking about anything like what you just said. Only you seem to be obsessed with such things that no one else was discussing.
I was just replying to one guy in the thread, and shared a card I’ve used to relative success to counter Quests/Questlines before.
By now you ought to know Im not some sweaty over obsessed competitive ladder ranking junkie that only cares about Legend status, deck rankings, leaderboards, etc. Not would I ever want to be someone that ever cared about such things. But if I can give a person 1 thing that can help them with quests/questlines that has helped me, in no way is that a bad thing to do.
And it isnt a bad play if you luck into it and the opponent doesnt take the same action as you would. You do know there are players of literally EVERY skill level/ranking in the game. every single month someone finishes at bronze 10, and someone else at bronze 9, and so on. But probably tens of thousands and not just 1. Not everyone reaches crazy high bars like whatever comes after platinum like you seem to assume.
But my boiled down to its most elemental post was guy went “no counter to this!” and I said, “yes there is, I used this, and most of the time it worked for me when I was lucky enough to go first”. Its not a matter of opinion on if its something to refute the guy’s stance on “no counter to this!” It is just a straight up refutation of their stance. its effectiveness isnt iron clad and I made that clear when I brought it up in the first place.
But it does work. Sometimes. and when it does. Its epic and hilarious. And is usually a quick auto concede from the one that it worked against. So its a good time to be had if you get lucky on the gamble that it is.
That’s exactly my point…put a tiny bit of control of the balance in the hands of them players; let us do their job for them since they’re so incompetent.
No, its you that doesnt understand. 12 metas is not easier, let alone more, balanced. Its harder, and less balanced. Your failure to understand this shows how clueless you are. Or just trolling as usual, SuperCuddles.
Bans also have no place in a competitive ladder game.
But I do understand. I think what you don’t understand is that you are wrong. It makes it difficult to interact with someone like yourself who doesn’t understand what they are talking about and refuses to see that they are wrong. That’s why I had to commend your ability, it’s pretty common and won’t take you very far in life but I salute you and wish you the best.
