Is there any other decks out there apart from DK Zerg?

Title says it all, Towel sales must be going through the roof with all the sweat lords piling onto the boring meta train. This game has so little diversity in builds anymore, I mean I hardly play much as it is, but damn if there isn’t and obvious downward trend in design concepts or original thinking from the play team at Blizzard, I really use to enjoy HS, now logging on every few weeks for some fun games has just turned into being a chore for meta bashing clones.

There is a balance patch comming in a few days that will hit Zerg and also Terran decks pretty hard. Many players will use these strong decks as much as possible now before they are nerfed.

Yes, from my last 25 games throughout the night, there is ONLY Protoss Druid, Dungar Druid, and Protoss/aggro priest. Nothing else exists according to my last 25 games tonight.

There are multiple viable options Zerg location lock, Zerg discover hunter, Zerg handbuff hunter, grunter hunter, terran shaman, Ctrl terran shaman, Ctrl terran warrior with hamm, Ctrl terran warrior with odyn, Zealot priest, protoss priest, Zarimi priest with Chrono boost, hero power druid, dungar druid, weapon rogue, protoss rogue, elemental mage. There are plenty of options.

The problem is most decks are easy to play since they have linear playstyle.
I’d say the deck that are complex and interesting to play are really few atm, with only Ctrl terran shaman, location lock and discover hunter.

I play only dk zerg now, because it gives more xp. It appears the spam of summons/rebornations give more xp for the game.

PS I do it in wild with a butchered version (no Reska). I went to legend in standard with shaman.

I seem to be only coming up against Play For An Hour In The Same Way Every Game And Then Throw Yourself Off A Building Oh God This Is Torture Please Let It End Warrior (or something like that).

Try BGs, Standard can get too old. Also wild (on low ranks only for that).

Very little incentive to play until the patch arrives. Even if you are grinding for top 50 legend, whats the point in playing rn? Meta is probably the most stale its ever been at least from my experience. Even when DH was broken on release the meta still felt varied when you werent against a DH.

let’s see what abomination they will create this time so the mentally hardcapped masses are pleased to play their 3IQ deck

The only thing contributing to xp gain is playtime. Ranked matches give 400 xp/hour, other online matches give 300 xp/hour.

Nope. They changed it within the past year. It now appears based on “actions”.

“Actions” are an abstract thing, and I guess it includes summon.

I mean this in the best of ways. Any competitive game is going to have a meta. As long as there are ranks to earn, there will be a plethora of meta decks compared to anything original.

In Wild there are countless possible decks. You could even invent a deck.

Do you have any source for this? I looked for official statements and couldn’t find anything. I’m reasonably certain you’re wrong.

And you are right. Well, partly. I did find something in 2024 June patch notes (Patch 29.6., https://hearthstone.blizzard.com/en-us/news/24108513/29-6-patch-notes )

Passive XP Grant Adjustment

In our continued efforts to combat bots and exploitive play patterns, extended periods of inactivity will now reward less XP. This change will not impact players taking normal game actions on their turns, such as playing cards, making attacks, or even just hitting the end turn button, so most players won’t see change in their XP earned—just fewer bots wasting their time.

In other words, they did mention the words “actions” and “XP” in the same sentence, which is more than enough for Carnivore to misinterpret it the way he sees fit xD

As they said, the change only refers to longer periods of inactivity, and doesn’t take into account individual cards played etc, which is miles different than what he said.

I’m right. You said it’s time based, and they explictly said “extended periods of inactivity will now reward less XP”.

Altair above wrote the source. Ignore the fact he has a vendetta against me for unrelated reasons.

You’re wrong.

maybe hes talking about the event weekly quest

I guess you have some language problems. The explictly said inactivity is not rewarded. Hence they implicitly confirmed that activity is rewarded.

I.e. you are wrong when you said it’s time based only. It’s activities’ based.
