Is standard safe to play now?

I survived terran shaman. It did a toll on me. Played for 3 days in the shaladrassil, imbue, paladin fiasco and it made my switch to battlegrounds (which i am highly hooked on now) but i’m itchin’ for a fixin’ - at least i think i am - for some ranked standard. I really don’t care about not hitting legend this month. It feels like way longer because i did the april legend very early so its almost like 2 months of no ranked standard.

So tell me hearth bros. Is it safe now? What’s DK doing to disrupt the meta these days

Standard meta should be a lot better now, though I haven’t played it, they took too long to release the balance patch.

It’s good that King Plush is deleted. But I wouldn’t play a random bad homebrew. There are clearly 3 to 5 archetypes that are clearly better than others.

At least none of them is a tyrant against the rest, if you play 1 of them.

Its fine as long as you’re only in the mood for control vs control decks. Combo and aggro are dead after all.

If they fix the bloody Colossus, i think it will be even better

nope. have a imbue hunter deck and i’m still stuck in bronze.

mind you, if don’t play standard that much as I hate that you can lose stars in silver, etc.

The game’s unplayable

If you hated it last patch, just uninstall, there won’t be any good news for you in a long, long time

DK’s back at simply removing your threats until you have to go to work because 1 game took up an hour and half of your life, but this time it’s not the only such deck, others have joined the crusade (warrior, protoss mage, deckless warlock…)

I swear there’s just not enough minions in the game right now, judging by how long it takes to bait all their removal

We WILL need the dmg from fatigue if we’re not gonna allow combo decks to survive a patch or two

We need a card that can override or cancel Kil’jaeden. It’s the way things are.

At this point we as players should Just whine as hard as possible until we get disruption and Tell the haters to shut up.

Atleast it’s my vibe RN.

Kinda tired of How they game is played nowadays.

Yep, too much is too much

It’s one thing to have a politics of not printing disruption, and other thing completely to prevent archetypes from existing at all

We need the diversity of archetypes, you can’t just delete every combo deck that ever shows up on the top decks tab

By printing disruption cards, we don’t have to delete every combo or control deck that snowballs anymore, because we will have counters to keep them in line.

So yeah, we definitely need disruption at this point.

At the very least have kilaeden have some kind of requirement to get the portal

We have what? 2 neutral semi disruption cards, dirty rat and clumsy steward, one is a gamble and the other hits you as well

Yes, something that makes their early game weaker would be great

As it stands, I don’t see many classes who can make a viable aggro deck to come under these

I see Pirate Rogue taking over the meta precisely because of that fact. Not even Pirate DH will come close (if it worked, it would have already be on the top decks, as that deck is even more optimized and played than pirate rogue)

It is safe now. But only if you like to play cards past turn 6.

How is KJ even a viable wincodition rn?

Protoss mage is quadrupling up on their minion for like 100-200 damage from hand over the course of the game, there’s no deck that can gain enough life or armor to stop that.

If anything, they should perma nerf all the terran, protoss and zerg cards, I’m sick and tired of those.

I mean, one way to stop the ramp for colossus is not give them targets for their protoss spells, of course then they just start nuking their own minions

It will never be safe for one person or another, because everyone has their preferences and it’s just not possible to keep everyone happy

I would love to see Kil’Jaeden set to shuffle a set amount of cards. I dont really see it happening though.

I would be satisfied with them limiting sustain. Especially ancient of yore. That card is doing too much. Its somewhat reasonable in most classes, but both Warlock and death knight can give it reborn. That whole interaction really frustrates me. Not only is it reborn in its dormant form, but it also gets full health(basically the dark gift effect for free).

It should come back as a 5/1 whether dormant or not. I dont think it should come back dormant at all!

It gives armor, draw, a solid body for 5 mana and the upside of potentially repeating its effect with no chance for the opponent to interact with it before spells are cast on it because it is dormant on their turn.

If these control decks had to run sustain tools that didnt give this insane amount of value and consistency to their gameplan, Kil’Jaeden would be much less useful and more of a drawback to run.
