So far I am not convinced. I can’t find a single pirate I want her to summon, except ticket scalper (which I don’t want to play) and southsea captain (which I want to play early to secure the win). All other pirates are understatted due to powerful from hand effects and synergy. Moreover, when she is played, it is likely that the pirates you summon will be like flinging spitballs at a wall of massive taunts.
I wrote her off as useless due to anti-synergy with self. Never bothered with her again until I saw someone say that she was a broken build around card, and they seemed sincere. So, am I missing something? Is she actually good?
Ok she’s not bad but definetly not broken compared to myra and graal that totaly suck. The new scheme card may help her a lot but aside from that she’s okish.
If your playing a pirate rogue deck you want her in there hands down in this meta.
also you are completely forgetting about southsea captain.
I’ve been playing a little bit with her, and have generally been pretty happy. My pirate package is 2x south sea deckhands, 2x south sea captain, 2x dreadsail corsair (the 4 mana 3/3 taunt), and Captain Greenskin. It works as great tempo swing/board refill.

She’s good with just the Ticket Scalper and Cursed Castaway. Assuming you don’t draw all your pirates beforehand, it’s a huge tempo swing that is gamewinning if you’ve been fighting for board up to this point.
She is likely to be even better after rotation, due to the overall power level.

she will be good with the new scheme card… scheme her…
Hooktusk is one of the top 3 best Rogue class cards in the Year of the Raven. After rotation her main weakness, AOE, is taking a huge dump.
The issue in ROS is that you lose Minstrel for non Pirate minion draw so you need a heavier Pirate package with Raiding Party to replace the Corpsetaker package.
I have been testing such a deck (Old Guardian build) with Necrium Blades and Blightnozzle Crawlers, it feels good. Hooktusk on curve almost always wins.
She’s a good board refill by turn 8. You may think it’s slow but most pirates are low cost so basically always a minions on early. A follow up cannon barrage after hooktusk is either a clear or lethal (as per my experience).
P.S. I only play the pirate rogue for fun on obvious reasons.
She will be very powerful this coming expansion because you can scheme her and also because she thins decks. Not to mention there are new ways to bounce them back.
Theoretically she could be used in a fatigue deck that continues to cycle her and pressure the board

Hooktusk, scheme hooktusk, daring escape?
Commence hooktusk memes
That would living up to her voice line “I never fight fair” lol
I only there were a way to shuffle 10 pirates into your deck…
maybe one day this card will be good, but not now at 8 mana.
uhhhh…scheme? Why stop at 10 when you can shuffle more?
as of now i don’t think pirate rogue has ever even been decent let alone the card hook tusk. Most pirates are pretty small and a lot of them have battle cry effects. Pulling 3 from the deck could help thin it out to get you closer to cards that you need.
