I really hope they fix it as well but if they don’t I myself will roll out and I have bought all of the pre-orders and many other things. I think that says alot
I don’t know. It doesn’t bother me but it seems to bother a lot of people.
Most changes get game communities riled up though.
The way I see it, the battlepass is $60 a year for a couple heroes each quarter and maybe 60 packs. It’s not breaking my bank or adding anything too significant.
I’m personally sick of battle passes in all games. They’re good ideas conceptually that have been ruined with bloat.
When I sit down to play a game I want to play the way I want. I don’t want to have to play X character, or goto location Y with weapon Z and get 25 kills. It gets to feeling like a job.
Loot boxes have their own problems, but I really enjoy the simplicity of Overwatch’s system. You log in and play the game without hoops to jump through.
Destiny has a battle pass also, but there aren’t hoops to jump through … you just play the game and get XP.
Probably not. Depends on if they fix it, but they’ve been riding on their brand a little too hard for to long.
Imagine being so controlled by your emotions that you LITERALLY play a game that you want to die out.
Yeah. I feel the same. This expansion is interesting. Sure, its not enough to shake the previous busted top meta decks but its still interesting to test some stuff (majority is these cards are just meme worthy but I like meme).
Though I still wonder even when playing - should I play next match today? I have already completed my daily quest so I might get like some 50 exp or so, thats worth like crap… My gold count barely moved, would I be even able to continue playing the HS? How many packs I would be able to open next expansion? Is it worth to play or should I just quit right now? Would it get better? Should I switch to LoR and try to learn how to play it, start to earn some stuff? etc.etc.
So in the end I do not even focus on the game enough. To be honest I do not even give a crap. I have conceded in the middle of the match several times (when I was in kinda favourable spot) because I havent found it to be enjoyable for me.
That fail of epic proportions regarding HS team and this progression system left me with sour taste in my mouth that affects my ability to enjoy the game.
Yeah. I like that one and I was even buying that “premium version” of season pass. Its 10 EUR for 3 months so its kinda amazing value (it definitely is unimaginable value compared to HS)
lol. Hardly. But i do believe in the adage that: “What goes around comes around.”
Team 5 and Activision chose greed over the Players’ play experience and agency.
More importantly, they also lied repeatedly about the change and they continue to.
You come across as someone who thrives on moral outrage.
That would be your opinion. It’s worth about as much as the rewards in Blizzard’s new system.
That seems rather petty and spiteful.
You call it whatever you wish. I dislike lies and I don’t believe Blizzard should be rewarded for theirs.
But; to avoid conflict I have retracted what I said.
you have repeated this many times.
Good to know you are keeping track.
Have you thought about stopping giving your opinions?
Have you considered the same? At least my opinions are regarding Blizzard and not what someone I barely know thinks or doesn’t.
If you want to slather Blizzard with undeserved praise for dishonesty and greed, be my guest.
Don’t expect me to join in.
The topic is whether or not the Battle Pass will kill the game.
Perhaps you could address that question instead of voicing your disapproval of other players’ views? (Which btw, are on topic)
It wont kill the game but it will be a major contributing factor.
Those gold calculations made by hs mathematics or the guy on reddit are not realistic. Because they only took into account if those player types play the game consistently, which makes the result it even worse in practice.
I started playing again since they launched the new system, i havent missed a single quest, and im still lvl 19. After lvl 16 or so, it turns into a massive grind. Unless they decide to change the quest system into 3 quests a day, most people wont even be able to hit 50. Because as i mentioned above, some people login once a week, some 2-3 times a week, some play it every day for quests and some play it as their main game.
The reason why it wont kill the game is because its actually better for players who play the game daily or more (6+ hours a day). But the casual players (a.k.a potential money spenders) will find it even less rewarding than ever before. Meaning they will check it out then quit the game without spending a penny. Ultimately this means stagnation on player numbers and if you are competent in economics / finance, stagnation means a very slow, agonizing death of a company / franchise. It wont kill the game right now, but 2021 for example doesnt look bright for HS team.
Battle pass is basically the meat inside a burger you ordered. Unless you are a streamer, you would need to be a complete moron to pay for it. Every product has a value equivalent, we call this “value for money”. 20$ for some insignifcant xp boost + 4-5 skins is just a very poor and dumb purchase.
What bobby boy dont understand in this business is the hook factor. Your product has to look desireable for purchase. Imagine you just started playing HS for the first time today, would you pay for anything? I wouldnt, i would just play a few games, realize that i need to pay for some packs, check the collection menu, see how many cards do i need, realize that i have to pay over 1000$ to even be able to compete in standart, nevermind about wild, and would instantly quit playing.
TLDR; this expansion lowered the value of HS as a product significantly to a point where they will never be able to regain it. Its just a matter of time when the game dies.
I agree that it won’t kill the game right away. I believe that it will encourage the F2P players to seek other games and that in turn will shrink the pool of daily players, leading to longer queue times and growing dissatisfaction with the paying player base.
I’m not sure why they thought this punative of a system was smart for their profits, but I think it sets the game on a course of decline.
That’s pretty hypocritical coming from someone who, regardless of the topic, jumps in every thread with a slight variance of “I don’t know but I hate Blizzard and they need to go down”.
Maybe that’s why people are so sick of you saying THE SAME THING in every single thread you come across, then telling people to mind their own business and stay on topic.
Stop valuing your own emotional expressions over the standards that you hold others to.
Do you have an opinion on the topic? You might take note that I deleted my reply and modified my behavior. Perhaps you could as well, since you have offered little of substance on this subject.
