I hate arena now, and I want to find a different game mode, so for any former arena mains, is duels a superior game mode? I’ve only tried it maybe five times but maybe if I play it more it’ll be enjoyable. So is duels fun?
Nope.
You take all the RNG of Arena and add a dose of metagame staleness from Constructed, and you get something worse and not better.

yup you were right, just like arena except you lose faster, very disappointed.
I personally enjoy Duels more, but I’ve always enjoyed the bucket/treasure system when it was single player. However, the way they do the treasures now you are extremely likely to end up with the same treasures every time, which takes away from the variety in games.
Once you know the OP combos, that’s what you will probably see all the time.
I still play Duels, but I do wish for more variety from the treasure pool.

Variety in the treasure pool and random starting decks would make it a far better mode.
Constructed starters just makes them more similar.

Yeah I have no idea why they let you craft your own deck. All random would probably suck, but it needs to be like commons only or something else to prevent this constructed garbage

If I’m Shaman I’m probably going murlocs with battlecry cost reduction and double battlecry. Then if needed, finish with a huge windfury weapon attack.
If I’m mage I’m most likely going with Discover discovers another card and discover reduces spell costs, though elementals can be an alternative.
If I’m warrior, seems like the best build now is Rush with double summons, though I personally roll with bombs, which mostly loses, but is at least more fun for me.
Paladin is going for dragons and the treasure that makes everything 3/3.
Most classes seems to have 1 good build (though I never see rogue), and maybe one OK/different build, and the passive treasures are almost always the same because you are always offered them.
Every once in awhile I see something unique which is cool.
Actually it’s less rng but hero power and treasures is what defines the game.
It’s slightly better then arena, especially if you have good collection.

i find it more fun and a lot easier than arenas, once you know what’s op with which class, you can get 12 wins very very often, there’s a lot less rng than arenas because you can build your starting deck

Actually I am enjoying duels way more than arena now, and I don’t even have to pay for the casual version. I have to say I always defended arena from people who said it was a trash mode, but honestly, it is a trash mode. If you go first you most likely always win, and with all the discover going first with perfect tempo curve + one hundred discover = no fun for your opponenet.
Duels is good! And the devs don’t give a sh_t about arena so they will never do anything about balancing it.
My last 12 win was with a miracle type rogue. They altered the treasure pool so it is too predictable for most classes. It they had a double combo treasure it might be more fun.
Which turd looks better? Is that what you’re asking?
