Is any late-game value deck beating Warlock?

I mainly like decks that go to fatigue (or avoid it by refilling their deck). For now the latter is more of a Wild thing, but is there any deck that can do that in Standard and handle both Jaraxxus and Tickatus?

The only non-warlock deck to me that has potential to beat a late game warlock would be hero power mage with some educated elekks to reshuffle their spells. However, in order to beat Lord J you need 5+ Hero Power damage, which isn’t easy to achieve (and with Tickatus, kinda RNG). On top of that, sustain is necessary since Lord J alone deals 24 damage with his weapon. Any chip damage and you are doomed.

The only deck that I have seen winning the fatigue game vs most decks is Kibler’s Prime-Rustwix deck. The core thing of his deck is that the Prime ressurects Rustwix and Rustwix can shuffle another Prime for potentially infinite combo. To ensure it works, he also uses a Vectus to basically shuffle another Prime and 4 random Primes again. However, the rotation removed a lot of its core cards, so the deck requires serious rework to be brought back.

I know this is annoying (as I am a fan of winning the long games too) but best way to beat Warlock right now is by rushing them. Lord J alone makes it almost impossible to beat and Tickatus makes most decks fatigue way before the Warlock does, especially if the Warlock runs things that bring more Tickatus.

This is probably not the advice you want – but have you considered joining the competition and playing control warlock?

It gets there vs Warlock usually, depends on what tick burns tho. I think I have an 80% win percentage vs warlock.

I’m gonna try this out; thank you @ToxicReignOTP.

I have many of the cards for either the Warlock or Mage prospect, but would only be able to finish the legendaries for one, so until I’ve accumulated more cards and an idea of a meta has settled, I’m doing Wild Priest and Standard Paladin.

Edit: there are Mage lists I can already do, and I’ll experiment with reworking the Kanrethad/Rustwix list. I do have Neeru but not the corrupt legendaries so full control warlock will take a while.

So how does this deck fair general? Just tried it for a few games and got utterly destroyed… granted I only ran into secrets Paladin which just seems ridiculous atm…

Good vs Control Warrior, Control priest, Control warlock, token druid. Pen Flinger rouge felt even, can be rough if they stick watch posts and you don’t have a good solution early. Secret paladin and murlock shaman I haven’t played enough to know. Celestial druid is the only mu that feels unwinnable.

Mind you, early meta so the decks I was facing were unrefined.

You need to wait.

The meta is nowhere near settled and you could wind up crafting the deck of the week.

If you absolutely want to craft a good deck, and only have dust for one, wait until the VS report Friday next week.

Did you at least open one of the busted Legendary minions that are fun to play? To hold you over in the meantime.

And Neeru ain’t it bub. I almost cried when I opened it.

Both Jaraxxus and Tickatus are designed to counter slow fatigue decks.

What you’re saying is directly equivalent to “I love playing weapons, how do I counter oozes ?”

Well : you don’t, you just lose to them because those cards are made to counter your gameplay.

I’m not sure there is, yes the deck lost a lot of what it was running before rotation, but you are still fighting a long game where you’re going to lose half your deck to either Tickatus or board clears.

There’s a lot of fun little control decks, even hunter has one that I’ve been playing a bit as well as Deathrattle DH, but if that card pushes them all out and we end up with Tickatus and aggro, I’d imagine something is changed.

There’s an idea of Yssarj getting the Galakrond/Dragonqueen treatment and the corrupted cards cost 1, but who knows if that would be enough.

It’s day 2, nobody knows what the meta will look like a week from now or a month from now.

Gotta say that I have defended tickatus warlock before this expansion, but seems that jaxxus might have been the card to push it over the edge… seems ridiculous strong atm against everything non aggro and yeah infinity value from jaxx and burning 5-10 cards from the opponent deck is just a very strong combo. To early to call for nerfs imo, let the meta settle a bit and see if warlock keeps being oppressive imo before acting.

tbf Jaraxxus is stronger than Tick. Especially in a grindy control vs control match up.

Hard to outvalue infinite 2 mana 6/6s

I have yet see them actually maybe a late bloomer ^^, but i think 'ill be problematic later

Ps (i want a ameliored hero power on my druid too) snif

It’s kind of the whole point of Jaraxxus to be the I win button against slow greedy decks that put no pressure on you.

Before kind of a came with a major downside by reducing your health to 15, meaning if the opponent had any sort of board presence it was usually gg in a round or two… now he just a 9 mana you can play on most round where the opponent haven’t had a major power turn before…

easy any kind of mage you dont care about the 70% of warlock deck cause he need minions while you only burn your spells on face or make your hero power a god killer

i already face 8 warlocks and he need to use the spells on their own minions to get life and they still die by pure fireballs

Main problem i have with this is pressure mostly does not work because this whole soul shard thingie over the top of everything else.

I would guess the best chance is hero power mage with CThun since they have a lot of removal and face damage tools.

Clown Druid…ahem…clowns on it.
