Infuse feels alot like Corrupt

Title really, they encourage playing off curve or waiting to play it until after their effect (expensive in some cases) is met, while the minion itself without the effect is underwhelming and not really good enough
Someone’s already said it, infuse feels very highrolly and I wonder how they might alleviate this in the future - maybe a class will get a legendary that reduces the cost of infuse cards, who knows

It’s very different from corrupt for me.

A corrupted minion can never be played on curve, while an infused minion can be upgraded before you have enough mana to play it.

They are only the same in the sense that you always want to play the upgraded version if you can help it and that’s where the similarities end. Corrupt is much more consistent. You just had to play a card that costed more mana anytime after you drew your corrupt which could often be active the very next turn. Infuse you have to have a number of things die after you draw the Infuse which will often be more than just 1 turn but on the upside you could play one on curve if you draw it early and it has the time to build up. Both could potentially fit into a smooth curve but corrupt is much easier to plan a deck around. The thing that kills infuse is that you have to plan multiple things dying at the right times and that doesn’t always go smoothly rather than just planning for 1 event of just having a higher mana cost card.

In my opinion, Infuse is superior because it always requires you to put something on the board, which encourages interaction between players. Corrupt could always just be achieved by playing X-cost removal spells.

Not a bad thing imo, the decks that only care about playing their entire deck on curve without any further consideration tend to be the more braindead variety of aggro. Some people enjoy that but most of us find it boring I think the

Corrupt had too many expensive cards that forced you to play the game weirdly.

Infuse is a much smoother mechanic I think. Play minions, profit. Every deck plays minions. With corrupt you not only couldn’t play the card on curve, you usually had to wait 2 turns to play it. By which point I think it had lost it’s impact.

All i know is i’m lookin forward to playing around with the new mechanic.
