Radiant elemental should be 4 mana, just like sorcerer’s apprentice. Animate dead should not ressurect it for these infinite spells all turn long games
apprentice enables fireball OTKs so how did the priest manage to otk you with vision of darkness?
Don’t worry, next expansion radiant elemental will stay in standard. They will also rotate in mind blast while reducing the number of shadow spells to 3.
They didn’t mention any otk, it’s just that they go infinite for many turns. Priest can easily discover Animate Dead for future turns and then they spam their visions of darkness again.
Unless you hit their legendary or somehow steal/remove from game both Radiant Elementals, their combo is pretty much guaranteed. Exodia Mage crumbled even to one disruption effect…

Easiest fix. But nope, Dev team has some weird fascination with not fixing things the easy way.
My claim to fame. 2015, when Patron Warrior was running rampant, I said that not less than (1) should be the norm, not the exception. To this day, almost 8 yrs later, reducing cards to (0) is still the biggest issue the game has (IMO)

I mean, if you can summon 4 radiant, you can infinitely discover void shards to hit face for an otk…not quite as easy as apprentice was, but you can still sort of otk.
There is also the 5 mana shadow spell that deals 4 damage to face and board.
If there is one thing they announce when they start dropping info for rotation I’d love to see, it’s this. Don’t make a text on every card, just make an in-game announcement and/or tutorial-esque game that emphasizes no card will go below (1) mana again. It’s about time this is done with the state of power creep we have now.
If they want to attach it to a Leggo somehow in the future, maybe, but I’d like to step away from it finally.

I never mention any specific cards. If you read what is being said, it’s about an overlying issue of mana reduction/cheating. I will agree there are cards out there nobody gets too frightened of when played for (0), but I think any breathing individual can understand the argument has legs. Bringing up nothing cards, as you say non-broken, doesn’t support a rebuttal.

There is a limit to how much you discount one card but not to how many cards you discount.

And spell DH is a really bad example for anything. It’s just overpowered.
I recognize this, however, I think it’s clear cards as such aren’t of issue. Are you going to tell me saving a card like Murlocula justifies saving cards like Swiftscale Trickster or Scourge Illusionist?

But it isn’t all or nothing.
When you print a card that reduces a card cost to 0 you know that at worse it will cheat 10 mana.
When you make a card like sorcerer apprentice you can’t even count because you not know how many cards will be discounted.
If you can count how much mana will be cheated it’s an okay card because it’s easy to balance if things Go wrong.
