Infinite Arcane

Is it supposed to work with Aegwynn’s effect? I just faced a mage whom lost all cards including the apprentice the effect was on, then after on the next turn casted Infinite Arcane and still got the effect on the next creature they pulled from the card generation.

It’s the next minion you draw.

Technically infinite arcane makes you draw the card so yes.

^ What the bro above said.

I am contributing nothing to this thread. Yay!

Ah ok, just seems misleading because the deck was gone and the spell was only casted after the death of the last minion with its deathrattle. Perhaps intentional or perhaps an oversight. Thank you for the clarification.

no idea why is mislieading did you read infinite arcane ?
it adds the card to the top of your deck
maybe you didnt see that bit and thought the card was added directly to hand

Uh no, I read the card and it should be fairly straightforward as to why it’s misleading. The misleading bit is if you kill the critter when the effect is on it with no deck in existence then it IS entirely misleading to have it directly port onto the next generated card if they cast the effect AFTER the fact to create effectively a new deck. Not sure how that is even confusing on my end rather than theirs.

If I have a critter with an effect and it passes to other critters in my deck and that deck is gone, then I effectively have no deck. It wasn’t clear that if a new card generates a new deck that effect lingers rather than expiring, since technically that is now a different deck generated by one of Blizz’s rng fest cards rather than my initial deck or even rather than simply adding cards while said critter with that effect was still alive. Seems like an oversight to me, but at least now I know how it works. I suppose they’d consider it still just another extension of your initial deck.

Aegwynn doesn’t pass anything to minions in your deck, it just sets up an effect that will trigger the next time you draw a minion. It’s far more obvious if you’ve played Aegwynn yourself since you see the fancy glow effect when you draw a minion.

If it worked the way you thought it did, then it would be possible to get the spell damage on a minion that got pulled directly from the deck (via Drek’thar, or something similar) which is not the case.

Aegwynn initiates the effect therefore it’s her effect since it’s on her initially. I don’t know how you’re once again conflating it to some thing I never said. I never said it would work on pulling a minion from the deck, where did you come up with that? I said it is misleading the way it reads vs plays. As a similar example, if I play magic top hat or whatever it’s called on a minion, and I have two other minions then it passes to one of those two. But if both die without a third played to pass it on to, the effect dies, correct? This would be the way the effect reads, but instead it plays like your deck is never empty. On the one hand, I suppose it makes sense since the player is just filling up what would be deemed his ‘deck’ whether through an effect or not. But on the other, not so much, because if the deck is empty, it would stand to reason that the effect ends.

Got it, you misunderstood the card. The game has clearly shown you of your error. The posts above have been trying to do the same thing.
At this point it’s readers’ error.
Have a great day.

The word ‘deck’ does not appear anywhere on Aegwynn’s text.

Your move.

So once again I clearly delineated why it felt misleading in wording but that I understood after people explained it how it actually works, so I get two more troll posts just to try and ‘rub it in’ for the superiority effect. Bravo. slow golf clap This is why I don’t generally post much on here. Between the protectionism for classes like Priest even when unbalanced and the general hostility, it’s amazing how these forums are even still alive. And yes, I’m well aware these are old responses, but still. The level of smugness on these forums is astounding.

Delete this thread it’s two years old and bears zero relevance to the game anymore.

its literally about a card, thats in the game right now, and still can be used, and still causes problems for people

so i say we dont delete it

I thought it was about a dude with literacy issues.

a third troll post by a person named MoonUnit. exactly what I’m talking about. I literally had the confusion when the card first came out, even gave a detailed explanation on how I understood once explained, and this kind of gladhand response is still the one I get even two years later after I post a clarification. this is exactly the kind of retarded smugness I was talkin about…
