Infernal Stapler DH does not fit with the class

Infernal Stapler DH new weapon feels more something like a warlock not DH type of thing. I could be wrong but what does everyone else think.

It’s support for this card and the deck they want you to build from it.

Since when have they pretended to have ‘class identity’ anymore?

It’s been some time, hasn’t it? I think that started to bleed away with discover, and then slowly they just gave weapons, armor, draw, so on and so forth, to everyone .
Now it’s just a mish mash .

uh do you realize OP is saying the weapon should be for warlock

not exactly a class known to use weapons to attack

meanwhile DH been doing that since release we evenh ave a minion to give you DH lifesteal while is on the board!

I understand that but just look no further than the recent expansion and tourists and classes have broken that wall… mages can now heal (with the taunt battlecry from paladin), play a taunt and buff minions which they could not do before and with the rogue tourist they can actually play their own damage weapons now too.

They’ve eroded a lot of class identity - shaman draw used to be awful, now on par with every other class - which suggests to me class identity is out the window

I imagine eventually you’ll just be able to play any 30 cards in a deck.

DH has no class identity.

The one in need of realization is you, Boreas.

They deem it worthy of the Warlock class because of the self-damage aspect, a recurring archetype for the class.

It used to be about hand manipulation and utilizing Outcast. The developers clearly all forgot about that.
