Increasing amount of players are so frustrated with the game, they just ragequit

It feels like more and more players just shut their clients down once they get bs’ed enough by the current meta. Hell, I am guilty myself.

This game triggers and frustrates people so much, they aren’t even willing to deal with conceding anymore. It seems like there is rarely motivation for a follow-up game after the first stupid loss.

Maybe it’s time for the devs to think of a solution. I see people like Kibler laughing off bs rng and swing turns (I admire that), but that’s probably just because he is so used to it happening.

These things are a big turn-off for the less-experienced and f2p players, though.

We reached a point where it’s just too much.

I feel you. But that’s Hearthstone now. I look back and feel stupid for how much time and emotion I spent here. I’ve been playing an actually great Blizzard game again, Diablo 2 single player. Sit back, zone out, have fun.

we have options now in quality hearthstone competitors

I have already deinstalled HS 4 times this month. I don’t get triggered when my opponent outplays me, the third DQA is however too much… Currently I only do the daily Q.

I’m on lock down still and yet I’m playing less today than I did when I was working. That’s saying something.

I am not upset with standard constructed meta, but BG meta is broken imo.

I don’t think you should get hit for 34 damage on turn 9, but that’s just me. It’s too fast and some of the highroll minions are game breaking, imo.

Battlegrounds is pretty screwed up, but don’t give constructed a pass. It’s far worse than prenerfed Patches with aggro/tempo warrior. In their frenzy to remake cards that were once hall of famed, you can play a 1 cost 1/2, and get a free 2/2 on turn one. Because we loved that blizzard.

The only reason I still play are BG’s, and I do the daily’s to save up gold for the next expansion, but yes, the rng in the game right now and power creep has totally ruined the game for me, could I hit legend this month, yes! But I don’t feel like it to be honest, so I play bg’s cause it doesn’t frustrate me

Hope they just add useful, meaningful Legendary minions next expansion

Well in my case I didn’t rage quit the match, I rage quit the game, bc they don’t care about wild, so theres no way to deckbuild and be an individual. Like 2 ppl in the world come up with new deck idea annually in wild, grats to them, while the millions of non-dream-children didn’t conceptualize the like one mm of deckbuilding space they found. More like 1/10th of a mm, that’s about the space they stumbled upon.

This would be proven wrong if youtube was in any way full of not-meta decks that win, not meme, but actually win. Since it factually isn’t, you can see that nobody can find a 1/10th mm for a new idea, but like 2 guys do or so a year.

That number should be like at least a 1000.
People who thought of something new on their own that works after meta-settle which is abt 1 month into an expansion. Trick is tho In wild if the build around is 1 card, that person isn’t coming up with something new each expansion, as his/her core is from old sets, and therefore is just riding the coattails of a years ago discovery all this time, not new-deckbuilding from scratch each expansion.

So, I think rage quitting is completely adult if the game is catered towards those who enjoy lookup then play, a very 2005 or so (when youtube got good) and after gaming way. YouTube into gaming combo was such a fad im glad everyone can see that too just bc you can ruin games that way doesn’t mean we all should. “im pro and on twitch” more like you’re pro at infosharing, not playing.

Most older folks don’t like game devolve. Which is what youtube into gaming is. For games that have low in-match execution, or PvE if you lapse and lookup. My planned side-jam career is to start up a counseling clinic (with a huge lobby waterfall, we’ll have the waterfall it has to be there massive too its critical) for those who are struggling with separating youtube/twitch and their games. We can even stream our lessons under the illusion that we are meta, and then quick change the backdrop and our outfits and then start educating. Reason being you’d get a lot more clicks and views if you disguised as a lookup-source. Like you have to camo as the problem to show the peace of mind and self satisfaction behind solving on your own. Although, id like to dress as Cleopatra (youth size) if i could. I learned that Cleo was attacked by snakes, and that’s straight up terrifying. Anyway, Ultra cheap appts since it’s a side jam job, no need to be greedy just charge like 2 bucks and educate and help those looking to go back to fun-gaming w/o youtube twitch ruining them. Problem solving encouraged.

Would be great to start up “nativegame” well it would have to be like “NaTiveGaMe86” or something to sound all new-era, “turtle” and “pants” would have to be in the names too bc common/borrowed, but it would be a movement to get our own ladder with only native gamers, no info-share allowed. It’s fine nobody would break the rules.

We are from a time when you solved on your own, or if you had to, you used google, which isn’t a clip w voice grabbing your eyes and ears showing you exactly step by step how to copy them. Alternatively ,games back then weren’t sabo’d by youtube, such as Age. You can’t copy exactly what someone’s doing in that pvp match and apply it to yours, you can only try. HS, its like, what are you going to mess up, passing the turn accidentally? Like, this is why HS is so insanely susceptible to youtube. In Age you have way, way, way more opportunites to lose-the-copy and thus the match, let alone what your opponent is doing.

Like rage quitting a game bc it’s all about youtube first? Sure. That’s a mature thing to do. Move on to games that aren’t sabo’d by youtube. Such as, a pvp game with a higher in-match execution bar, so you aren’t facing just the search engine, but your opponent’s in-match brain. Also, PvE if you reject youtube is completely peaceful of info share. What HS wants you to do here is to either be blind to, or enjoy, winning with not your own idea, or double down on heavy info share usage, FT job style, to find the one list that is meta that gets you climbing. All of these wins are attributed to the info share before the match, not the in match play, or your in match deckbuilding. So, the legend banner should have youtube and twitch icons glowing around them like "good job! you spent a ton of hard work looking up online before the match, you surely tried a lot of meta lists before settling on this one, it’s too bad you didn’t come up with that list yourself, but our day and age of twitch youtube blocks that from happening if we don’t regularly balance and adjust our cards’ Here’s a non-golden card, bc we think people stopped caring about gold cards, or their opponent’s rank, or battletag.

Something like CoD is higher skillcap than HS for sure, but FPS’s that are online and pvp oriented have never been cool and never will be. FPS’s not online, like goldeneye, are what’s up. Turok, Doom 90s, and so on. Halo 2 was cool, but that’s only bc we were all brand new to online fighty-talky FPS’s at that era, now that everyone knows their negativity and how it’s not worth it, we avoid. Xbox X doesn’t matter, nobodys playing online FPS and fighting over headsets with this illusion that one is the best in the region and so boss, until that bubble breaks and they’re like dang I need a career.

Look at Age 2, its completely youtubable, and completely different each match with so many skill testers going on its impossible to copy what you see on youtube. Totally different than HS. Age 1 is cooler tho 2 gets all the hype its cooler to go against the grain and play Age 1. Hmu if u want to Age 1 I have the CD in my moms basement drawer still since 97 IK, but I took the mortgage on so the basement that formerly was my moms is legally mine now so it’s cool to game in the basement that was my moms but now is mine bc mortgage. The CD has dust all over it but it works. CD’s were things that existed before people only gamed if they watched youtube first.

He also makes a decent living off of “the job”. Like Kripp etc. Go work in the real world or sit on your duff doing boring stuff and get paid. No boss, no customers one after the other with complaints. No driving to and from work. Wear what want. Work when you want.

Just have to laugh at the game as you play or show some kind of interest even if its boring or bogus RNG.

The rest of us don’t get paid to do it so we wonder why we bother logging in. Or I use to. But now I have been happily playing FUN games past 3 days. NEW PC! WOOT!

One of the ways that Activision-Blizzard could lessen the player exodus, and I am not boasting it as a big change, because a lot of damage has already been done, would be to make available the truth about matchmaking and statistics. What boggles me is the degree to which the companies have discounted the importance of that information; which fundamentally affects player expectations and self-assessment; which ultimately forms the basis of value players perceive in the product, and their time spent consuming it. The secrecy seems like poor marketing and product management. The secrecy is alarming in the face of it being advertised as a fair e-sport. What is on the back of trading cards for sports like soccer, baseball, football, and hockey? Statistics right? It makes one wonder.

As some of the other posters in this thread have stated I also only play BGs because normal is way too toxic for me. I will do my quests and get that gold but other than that I dont play it.

Battleground is also starting to lose it’s attraction with the new updates to the mode has made it pretty much like normal mode where RNG is the main agent of play. Pirates are kinda out of control with the scalability so the mode now is all about stats and how quick you can get there and of course the arcade shooter style build with arcane, jugglers and whelps which is even more frustrating to play against since all you do is watch your tribe get wrecked before you even start your turn.

I honestly dont know why I keep playing the game, the fun is gone and winning or even placing in the top four is getting harder and harder.

I too only play Battlegrounds.

I don’t know what happened with Standard. I came back from a break. They gave me a free full Highlander Mage. They seem a little more generous on packs. Duplicate protection exists now which is great. The adventure is free again. I put a few decks together and was ranking fine enough. The end of month chest is better now. In theory it all sounds great. But I lost interest in a few weeks and never went back.

I think they’re outright ignoring the core issue of gameplay and putting band-aids and polish on all the little things around it. The game is swingy, high rng and frustrating to play and has been for 2+ years now. Sadly Blizzard has a long history of polishing turds and stubbornly trying to force them on us, rather than admitting it’s still a turd.

Tell me about it. Used to be I’d have a loss or 2 and wouldn’t bat an eye. Now the losses feel. So horrible just one kills my will to continue playing. I then jump onto LoR where I know most games aren’t so rage inducing. I always come back to hearthstone because it’s been with me for 6 years. It’s a part of me. But it’s like that sibling you hate at one point in your life. You love them but you just wish they’d go away for awhile.

I am quite overjoyed with the meta. There is quite a lot representation of each class, most having multiple types of play, like highlander variations, and loads of different techs seen on DH.

All classes are played except shaman (2%), warlock (5%) and paladin (5%) being a bit underrepresented.

No game ever is exactly the same, and there is just enough RNG to keep things spicy (puzzle box is a over the edge though).

Frustration can be found against druid, who just do their more or less Solitaire play and with good draws are unbeatable. In my case, they werent so lucky (29-19) but it remains frustrating to see an opponent cycle into autoplays and there is nothing you can do about it.

I played the fantastic Galakrond tempo rogue deck and its the most fun I had in HS in a long while. I has a winrate of just at 50% or just above, against any deck. It feels great playing a deck that can beat anything.

I don’t think you are playing the latest version of the game client, mate. Also if ALL classes are played except 3 it’s not really all. This meta is just over before turn 7 in standard and in BG. Swing turns with cards that simply do to much is wrecking HS.

When I actually started playing in Beta you had cards like tazdingo, ogre or Doomhammer. That wasn’t a turn 5 clear board and rush down opponent.

Thats not true, I play at the upper region of legend now and have played exactly 400 matches this month. Could post the breakdown if youre interested.

I think the meta is more diverse than I have seen it in a while. Keep also in mind the times of ONIK when you had as opponent your choice tempo shaman, tempo shaman and tempo shaman. And I know about the times of UT hunter too… its really fine right now.

Yeah except that the meta is not diversified. I play diamon / legend and it’s literally nothing aside from face or swing. Can’t even remember the last time I faced a warlock or shaman on the ladder. If you don’t play aggro right now you get stomped. Stats wise the meta is very skewered to aggro.

I’d be surprised if any of those 400 games aren’t with hyper aggro decks.

Then you shall be suprised. I played Galakrond rogue ONLY. The stealth version with Akama, and Toggwaggles scheme to screw over priests.
