In case you didn't know Beast Hunter was broken - image

The deck’s weakness is decks that can cheat out huge piles of stats early on (e.g. bless priest) but people don’t like to play those decks because they are insanely subject to the opening draw.

Just revert harpoon gun’s buff (maybe reduce the amount of health Doggy Biscuit and Ramming Mount give) and the deck will be balanced.

Bless Priest is just good because it looks to hard counter a few select decks. It just so happens that those select decks are the best decks and beat everything else.

Bless Priest is so incredibly easy to counter that it often has massive polarizing matchups. It loses to Quest Priest 90% of the time (!!!), Thief Priest 90% of the time, Paladin 80% of the time, Control Shaman and BSM Mage 70% of the time and some warrior decks 70% of the time.

It’s basically just looking to snipe out a few decks. Beast Hunter is so prevalent that decks that target JUST that deck with a high win ratio will end up doing well in the meta because of how often you run into Beast Hunter.

If you run a single silence or 2, your odds of beating Bless Priest probably go up like +40%. It’s such a stupidly easy deck to counter. If you run spell or minion disruption (like secret mage) your win % also goes up significantly.

It’s probably THE easiest deck to counter I’ve ever seen in Hearthstone history. The fact that it’s doing well is just more affirmation of how stupidly powerful and prevalent Beast Hunter is.

I 1000% agree with this.

This…

While i wish they would buff other classes insted of nerf hunter this is not gonna happen.

Wildseeds provide too much value imo. They support hunters mid game to later game plays. Everyone 2 focused on dealing with those then the biger minions come out and its over.

Wildseeds are the issue here and the no1 fact is the game slowed down too much allowing previously bad cards to be good now.

But they’re so cool! I played a bit of Shadowlands and loved the Ardenweald aesthetic.

Yeah they are kinda cool but yeah hunter gets to much value from one card.

Prob make it so Wild Spirts dont make wildseeds awaken 1 turn sooner. Is a safe nerf should lower the win rate a bit without killing hunter. It should be pretty impactful.

That card should probably cost 1 more.

That would kill the card. Honestly either might. Or nerf the wildseeds. 2/4 taunt 3/4 on the buck. Tbh the weapon on the buck with the body it has i have allways though it had a bit too much value. Even though they already nerfed it? Didnt they? Once?

Hunter just has too much over all pressure rn in General.

Funny thing is that deck is decent in wild rn as well lol. Unless playing against warlock thet just destroy everything with there insaine amount of removals.

I don’t think it would. The card has so much value that at 4 mana it’d still be quite useful. I’ll also include the most popular BH deck’s mulligan and drawn winrates below to help give others an idea of what might need to be hit.

Mulligan

Drawn

Ik i looked at that. The other thing is the saber card when its drawn card from the deathrattle is played iv seen that save noobs many games with a bear summoned.

Thats legit wild shenanigins.

Wild is my fave mode i wont lie cause i like crazy games like that but yeah no class in standard rn us prepaired to deal with that level of stuff.

Saber’s pretty far down on the lists, though.

Idk im just trying to lower its power over all not kill it.

Devs just kill classes/decks most the time.

This is the version of the deck i tried the other day.

Tbh not my thing i like priest rogue and mage but naga is boring af and quest priest is meh. Current rogue decks are meh in standard as well…

Mage is ok… tbh standard is boring for me rn. I have more fun trying/making new decks in wild.

I’m definitely not trying to kill it. We’re speculating here, so most predictions are without evidence because we unfortunately can’t simulate suggested changes.

I believe Denathrius needs to be hit. He’s too universal of a win condition, and honestly at this point I wouldn’t mind seeing the card neutered.

Aside from that, I believe Saber and Harpoon Gun especially need to be nerfed. Although I disagreed with you earlier about Saber, it seems to be that the cards that reduce cost and summon minions are the problem here.

Do keep in mind that as the deck sees a greater level of adoption you also expect to see the win rate drop due to mirror matches effectively being a 50:50 toss up that pulls the overall win rate down more as the deck becomes more popular.

A deck that goes from a 58% win rate with a 6% play rate to a 55% win rate with a 20%+ play rate hasn’t really been adapted to, it’s more just seeing itself more.

That’s a really good point I haven’t considered. Thanks Smeet!

Yeah, it’s why it’s generally a flawed argument when people try to defend their “tier 2” deck when it’s a quarter of the meta.

This seems like the better option. Give other classes the tools to contest the board in the early game so that they have the resources to deal with the Hunter’s mid game.

I’ve been playing a lot of Imp/Curse Warlock this season (which has a pretty even matchup against Hunter) and it is extremely noticeable that the Warlock is significantly better off in the games they open with the Imp stuff and are able to win the early board (I appreciate that this seems extremely obvious, but the point is; Mountain Bear honestly isn’t that scary when it isn’t protecting a bunch of other minions that are smashing your face in). If other classes had better tools for playing early game, they wouldn’t be getting completely dominated when the Hunter drops a huge multi-taunt to protect their board from trades.

Seems to me like both a bad and unlikely suggestion. It’s bad because power creep shouldn’t be handled with more power creep. It’s unlikely because T5 likes to reduce power levels throughout an expansion so as they can introduce stronger cards with the next expansion.

Ik your not sorry if i came off in a way that made u think that i thought u were.

Mana nerfs most the time make cards not even see play any more in hunter decks. Imo.

Honestly nerf the taunt wildseed and the body on the buck imo. Thing is hunter has a crap load of ultility its not even utilizing right now.

Its over all kit is just too strong. The 0 cost return a minion to your hand spell iv been running 2x. Its insainly good im abour to make a new deathrattle hunter for wild soon ill let u know how that goes and share the deck with you. It should be pretty fun.

Wild spirits to 4 is ludicrous it’s basically 4 mana do nothing card. It won’t happen as it would just kill the card.

Harpoon gun? Sure
