Im still having the same issue with scaling

I just cannot seem to be able to get any tribe to scale up like what takes me out. last game my largest minion was 68/47 on turn 12, I had broken my neck racing to tier 5 by turn 10… I had 2 goldens which is uncommon for me as I can normally only get 1 golden by the end of most matches…(the buddy)…(sometimes). I was trying to utilize the tavern spells and elementals to scale up and I got them rather big quickly as my freshest minion bought was a 13/23 straight out of the tavern. But of course the final opponent had to have a board full of tier 5/ tier 6 undeads all in the 600/600s…

Im making all the best choices I possibly can to further the builds… I had the pirate elemental for additional tavern spells generating, I was the hero that gets their 4th tavern spell free, I had the golden buddy to give me 2 of whatever my first tavern spell was per turn (only got that to happen once before the final combat). I had the elemental that when it takes damage it gives me a tavern spell… I had that non elemental RockBand player with the fake guitar that buffs the board after playing an elemental… I had the tavern spell triggered buffer elemental… literally i felt like i was on fire as I hadnt taken dmg since the 2nd or 3rd turn… and this guy takes me out in one hit only losing his buddy minion the raptor from brukan… he wasnt even playing dragons to take advantage of his buddy’s deathrattle…all undead. in the 600/600s across the entire board save for the buddy being at like 100hp…

I dont know what I can do any different as I feel like Im making all the best possible choices made available to me. but I have NEVER had but maybe a single minion onmy boards get big stats, going board wide stats i;ve never gotten them above the 40/40s territory… that includes quillboar recently.

You can watch streamers, but I know you don’t want to do that.

You had mentioned to me before you have an issue with memorizing things. I think that’s a big thing holding you back. You have to be able to memorize a lot of things.

The reason those minions had such large stats is almost certainly because of this interaction.

And

Any buffs you give your minions outside of combat are generally permanent. So end of turn the Nightbane is triggering and buffing minions. If there’s an Enchanter on the board it happens twice. What you do is start bouncing Nightbane buff between two of them early on and triggering the DR outside of combat. in a turn or two one of them will have a huge attack buff on them that is permanent. From there you just keep passing that large Nightbane attack buff to everything. 1K+ attack is not hard to accomplish in a turn or two max.

This is the most reliably way to buff minions with insane scaling quickly. If you are in a Mech and/or Pirate lobby your goal is to find Reapers and Blade Collectors so they have a huge attack but with their cleave. If you can get them with DS on them it’s basically game over for any opponents.

You can also buff elementals really fast with Millhouse and his Buddy in an elemental lobby and hit living Azerite fast. You can basically chain spawn a bunch of 1 cost spells to keep casting and buff the elementals fast. It’s either that or race to 5 and chain out odd drops into

Yeah but tier 5 and 6 minions rarely appear (for the tribe im playing as) and normally in a golden prize of the next tier (say im at 5 discovering t6s) I get all useless t6 to me. never any undead if Im playing them. Its predictable at this point. Its next to impossible to find the reborn deathrattle undead of t5 that gives both attack and hp, and same for the reborn deathrattle beast that deals dmg to all friendlies, but i can reach t5 by turn 10 but not encounter a single t5 of the tribe until about trun 13 to 15… but it doesnt matter when someone can have a golden t6 and another normal t6 by turn 10… as brukan?! makes no sense

and forget about mechs… its rare enough to find any magnetics let alone any specific ones like the cleave one. the only way I can get any is thru hero powers or that tavern spell. and IF im insanely lucky the deathrattle one that gives a magnetic… but thats maybe found once in every 10 tries as mech for me.

but your example of the two undead dont add up to what you say it should. once you kill it and it respawns its exact replica, that exact replica never gets to be any bigger turn after turn. it will always remain the same since the kel thuzad is killing it to buff 2 other minions on the board but it will never land on that dragon undead to make it any larger. so the math of a couple turns turning it into spreading around 2k attack is not adding up

my issue with streamers is that I cant zoom in and hover my mouse over a card to read it to find out what it is. Beasts are easily discerned because there only similar beasts in their tribe are the birds, and they all look so different. Unlike every demon looking exactly alike, every quillboar is identical looking, every mech, every pirate, every elemental, every undead so I have to be able to read what the function of each minion is because going by a low quality pixelated view of minion without any clue as to what it is doesnt teach much.

Imagine you are viewing that often used in youtube videos where they show all the math equations at half opacity zooming outwards from the center of the screen to imply someone is doing some hard thinking, some serious thinking cap is going on for the moment. lol. You know that trope? ok, now try to solve each of those equations as they fly by in all directions. Also, even tho youve been in math class every year of school, what each equation is for or does or how to solve them is not available to you at this point in time. Its a perfect blank slate every time, as if its always the first time youve seen the quadratic equation, or pythagorems theorem, or how to find the radius of a circle, or that equation Matt Damon solves, or e=mc squared, and countless others. Its as if you are seeing them each for the very first time each time its in front of you. You know you;ve encountered them before, like a feeling of dejavu, but the functional practical ability to recognize them is always just out of reach. If only there was a simple way to retain all that info permanently once its encountered once. Like how the Borg adapt and assimilate new things. If only…

yeah youtube doesnt let me see the card by hovering my mouse over it when pausing it. and the name of the card doesnt help, as thats not connected to its functions in my mind. its the functions (text on the minions or spells) then the image loosely, and never the name unless its the most iconic of its tribe like Teracgosa is to dragons. I cant name another in that tribe at all. But I know kel thuzad an ghoulacabra, cant name a single pirate… nor elemental… nor demon… nor boar…

The TRICK to getting a Nightbane to the size where you are hitting 1K fairly fast is having TWO Nightbanes on board and triggering Kel and the triggered NB buffs hit the other NB. Then you combine them and you have an insanely huge nightbane that is now passing out a couple hundred attack 4+ times each KT trigger depending on if you have Titus.

Keep in mind this is the EXTREME case. That is hard to do and doesn’t happen often. The normal case is NB gets to about 45-50+ attack through buffs normally and passes that out a large amount of times getting your minions into the couple hundreds in attack. You don’t realistically need 1K+ attack to win a lobby. Perhaps at lower ranks you do because you say you go to turn 17+. That’s not something you ever see at high rating. Turn 13 maybe 14 is max at high Rating.

You will learn so much more watching top BG streamers. Many of them talk about their plays and you can hover over cards to see what they do. Honestly i wish you would record a lobby you play in so we could see what you are seeing. It would put your experience more into context and help us point out how to possibly improve your game.

before i got to 6k mmr the matches would go that long but max stats were still never getting close to that. still in the 40/40s-80/80s ranges even when at combat 17 matches.

it was once i got stuck at that floor that i encounter these always impossible to get board comps. I say impossible to get, for me, as I might encounter half of their minions in maybe 5 matches combined. let alone having them all on the same board in the same match. Kel thuzad is like a 1 in every 50 times i go undead i might encounter it in the tavern.

See if i am playing in a lobby with undead i will see KT in multiple builds if a NB was drafted early on from a player. Pretty much everyone drafts that combo and gets it going. They might not keep it if they find something better but generally that’s a solid combo to stick with unless someone is janking their build to combat it.

Everyone is on tier 4-5 by turn 9 at the latest. There’s very few builds left at tier 3-4 that can be played out in this meta successfully.

I can break my neck getting to t5 by turn 10 too… what i cant do is get a golden t6 and regular t6 by then. thats whats impossible… i cant even find a t5 by turn 10… or make a golden minion by then outside of the buddy
