I'm back to say Mage is done.. Again

Quest Mage still going to be good as long as Ignite can continue to hit face.

I think Quest mage will lose to anything fast.
probably tier 4.

Yes, you are 100% right.

These incompetent morons who haven’t the slightest clue how to make, design, balance, or play the game they continue to create and maintain are nothing more than marketing super-geniuses who have unlocked the formula for unlimited manipulative profits thereby being paradoxically idiot savants.

I will see if how well it goes with the mana costs changes. Quest Mage is the only class I struggle with, even with aggro decks because of the freezes and removals.

Lol, love the sarcasm! You’re still my best boy, Sel:)

What I said was in relation to the fact that we have so FEW options that the class is easily made void, read everything first my dude. Mage is always in the bottleneck.

What can you say. When people complain about something ends up killing something.

Yes it is popular but only when there’s a niche was my point, if it’s overpowered then people flock whereas I play mage with or without the niche.

Also yes, discovery from the opposed view was viewed as a clown fiesta of discovery but it was mostly luck based, there was no certainty of specific selections. And it was that lack of uncertainty that made it difficult to play against because everything tends to be super defined, hence fun when you do happen to get the lunch draw.

Understand that mage isn’t given many viable options, aside the given meta it has nothing remotely competitive.

It’s a tiny, tiny nerf to a card that has a high winrate. There’s no like… rule that mage needs to be a high tier deck if it’s creating design or match issues.

Totally agree, I don’t see too much change with a 3 cost IF. Blizzards history with the class has seen a consistent habit of making them either overpowered or completely useless and we simply can’t understand the method behind the mind, and I repeat a from a previous post, we have the fewest cards to select from in both standard and wild, go figure.

If developers hate mage for nerfing one card, they must really hate warlock and paladin which both had two key cards nerfed.

Lots of decks can kill you t4 in wild though and far more consistently than APM mage. IF was nerfed because of standard. If they were balancing for wild, there are WAYYYYYYYYYYYY more problems than IF.

This correlation doesn’t really have solid footing when you actually look at what happened. Mage has 1 viable deck right now, quest mage, which is a deck that has a 50% WR (or less at higher ranks) and the 1 card that was a 70% mulligan WR in that pitiful showing was Incanter’s Flow. The card was the deck. I do think that’s a design problem and NO card should be that determinative of a decks success or not (it’s not fun for anyone, the mage who doesn’t get the card or the opponent when they do get it). But destroying that without a buff, kills this deck which kills the class. As for your comparison, they killed the worst variant of quest warlock but quest warlock still has its most powerful versions (D6 and no-hands control) alive and well - in fact, potentially thriving under our new meta.

Unfortunately I do. I see a three mana IF taking up space at turn three that other cards would ordinarily utilize (often at a discount), making turn three a dead turn, among other concerns.
This is a much larger tempo nerf than many here care to admit.

Tier 1 my prediction.

Top tier 2 if everyone and their mothers start to run many techs as possible targeting the ruller of the meta.

Nah, lots of non-mage people care. If they didn’t care, they wouldn’t whine about mage ;p

And doesn’t mage see more play rate than their performance data suggest? So there’s a lot of mage players who still care enough about the class to play it.

I want some of whatever you are imbibing. The deck is Tier two now before the nerf. It isn’t going to rise.

Tier 2, in all rank brackets. Stop spreading misinformation

My apologies. After tomorrow my mistake won’t matter.

Yes, it will. You are making up stories that support your agenda, as you always do.

Do the forums a favour and leave again, you were not missed.

A meta-warping, TIER 2 deck, with a high representation, deserves nerfs.
